SWFL Eagles ~ E17 & E18 Both Branch Together On Veranda For The First Time! 💕 4.6.21

E18 is winging around the nest and then hops up on the veranda branch! E17 is checking E18 out up there and then a couple minutes later, will jump up to the veranda too! We have our first joint side by side branching of the E's! Congratulations E17 & E18! Harriet is on the outer attic and is watching her offspring branching together and M is on the outer limb - we have the entire family branching together for the first time!
We should be seeing both E's venturing out further on the veranda branch in the next few days and then ultimately up to the attic! It will be wonderful to see Harriet next to her eaglets as they prepare for the fledging soon! Let the fun begin! Thank you for watching!

@@judithryle2113 17 was in the nest tilting it's head. You can tell them apart by their tail feathers, 17s are all black and 18s are frayed with white tips.

One of my most favorite moments is when eaglet siblings perch side by side. To me, it’s their expression of mutual love and respect, not to mention so adorable! I love E17&E18, Harriet & M15 so very much. Harriet & M15 are amazing parents. Thank you for the precious moments, Lady Hawk.

Each year I love their faces when they are around this age. Just so beautiful and cute. My favorite of all times was E9 „Dancing in the Rain“ but these two now sitting there in that other video for minutes in Sync spreading their wings is hilarious-never seen anything like it in all this years. That will have another special place in my heart.

Hi Rico the eagles are unbanded so we have no way of tracking them or know where they are. Most juvies head north to migrate and may stay around the Chesapeake Bay area for a good food source.

It is very hard to tell and often we never know. I think 17 is male and 18 female. But a lot of people think the opposite.

@@Shifter22 At this age the differences are so subtle that we can only guess. I have had a feeling for awhile that 18 is female, although last time she was bonked, not that long ago, she still put down her head and allowed 17 to eat first, and females are usually dominate in eagles. 18 appears slightly larger to me, but that could just be the colouring.

@@tschouten1 Thanks. E18 ate more recently and E17 was pretty kind to E18. Feathers on E17's back had been darker but recently they turned brownish similar to E18's back feathers. I hope they will be fledging and soaring together.
