In HoTS there is an experience based reward system, you get xp for kills, spending resources, playing custom games even if it's just against AI. It's basically a move to help people out with their ladder anxiety, they may lose ladder points but they will still gain xp and levels and unlock decals/units skins and animations as a consolation prize

Well, if you run single Zerglings over Widow Mines, they don't have a second target with which to reset the attack timer, and it'll be forced to detonate.

But a single Ling can be shot down by Marines/Marauders before the 1.5s Timer is over, so you have to use a small group of Lings to activate the Mines. Like that it is simply possible to outmicro the lings, IF you have enough APM to do this while multitasking the rest of the game ;)

They got buffed enormously this expansion, medi-vacs have that free speed boost that doesen't even require an upgrade, widow mines do way too much damage on their own, the seeker missle buff is op as fuck as the trade off for not microing the right units is a game changer for simply pressing R. Also, hellbats are broken right now, they need to make them mechanical so that hellbat drops arent so efffective, it takes 3 spines to kill 1 hellbat with a medivac, and they can 2 shot your mineral line

Given the speed of SC2 in general this trick is on a par with MarineKing style splitting vs banelings. When you decide to allin like that you are making a wager that your opponent does not have the skill/resources/correct preparation to survive such an attack. Against a player who you know has the skills to pull something like this off, would you really make such a risky wager? Besides I think its clear from the video that Lae still lost this game despite his best efforts

If they're so overpowered, why is Terran the least played race at the moment? I won't deny that they have a lot of very good units and that the balance could certainly use some tweaking, like the mechanical thing, but overall i feel like it doesn't make much of a difference. The seeker missile splash damage was reduced i thought? The speed boost should at least cost energy, but widow mines only do so much damage if you don't notice them and run a bunch of light units in.

buuuut if you run with only one ling, the terran forces will probably kill it before it triggers. So you must run with several lings to set the mine of. And then they can micro it again... Dammit.

That's batshit crazy. It's a cool trick but it essentially removes the weakness of the mine. I am not in favor of that, a unit like the mine should have a massive caveat, such as not being able to choose it's target.

If you don't like that Terrans learned how to use their Widow mines more efficiently (Which I assure you, this isn't a huge issue if you really think about it) You can always stop bitching and get an overseer, then no one has to micro!:D

Well I am not sure about that because Terran is the 2nd most played race followed by Protoss. Right now Zerg has lowest players in SC2 due to Hellbat Drop+Widowmine Splash.

Yes, this would take just about all the apm of the terran player to use correctly, but consider the situation of holding an all-in. You already have units queue'd, it's not like you need to expand/make more scvs maybe take 1 sec here to make a depot or 3 sec here to queue 5 marines and 2 marauders. You can just wait untill I have to run everything I have up. Yes it takes alot of APM, but it means that no matter what the zerg does, he's going to take the FULL blast from the widow mine.

Marauders have a range of 6. Marines and mines have a range of 5. Every terran players will hide behind their mines, so one single fucking zergling can detonate the mine, before the marines can pick him of, if done properly, remember that low league scrub.
