I grew up with adlib, and I still like it. It's much better quality than internal speaker or tandy, and it doesn't overstep its technical limitations and usually has an inoffensive and charming sound. Authentic MT-32 is better quality, of course, but in an era where both are outdated nostalgia counts for a lot. And though I say they're outdated, it pains me that NOTHING today can match the compositional dynamism of iMuse. Woodtick should have been an example for future games to follow.

@UCgrab Thanks for the suggestion. I already have both remakes in my Steam account! I have made two gameplay videos with them as well! :) Awesome work indeed and money well spent. As for the MT32, I find our friend's Laffer's videos quite satisfying really. In all honesty I couldn't afford the time to properly relive those times of epicness. I will have to stick to KZbin videos! :)

I have noticed a small difference betwen MT-32 and CM-32L. At 3:19 the CM-32L produces a clearly heardable "kwak kwak" sound that is not present in the MT-32.

Yes the MT32 is considerably better, duh! :P This name has been haunting me for years. I could never afford one! Oh well, hip hip hooray for tech advancements!

I prefer the Adlib on this on. Obviously the MT has better sound, but the mix just feels better on Adlib to me.

Is the AdLib in this video an emulator, sound blaster, or is it one of the rare KZbin videos that actually uses a REAL AdLib card?

@FreidenkerDeluxe That would be nice, but dinamically changing music is a pretty taxing job for the musicians and the scripters. Sadly, not everybody has the money/talent to do that in every game.

Roland MT-32 sounds better. There should be a law in every country that forces developers to use iMuse in every game. Not a lot of games that did a similar music system after MI2.
