Laghzish-e-Mastana is a collaboration extraordinaire that is poised to be launched as the biggest Sufi confluence of our times. A historic coming together of two musical icons and doyens of their fields of music for the first time ever. Featuring the two most revered singers and composers of the sub-continent in that last 4 decades, the Sufi offering is a much-awaited masterpiece for the followers of the global legends.
Laghzish-e-Mastana
A masterwork that promises to captivate the world of music for its unique pairing as well as the combination of sublime poetry and the unparalleled musical genius of the two legends. An alchemy of soulful gayaki and technical mastery in this first ever musical production featuring legends Abida Parveen and Shafqat Amanat Ali.
The track is a mystical journey of pure melody penned by the celebrated Sufi mystic Bedam Shah Warsi. A disciple of Syed Hazrat Waris Ali Shah, his poetry has been a confluence of modern Urdu idiom, Punjabi as well as Farsi traditions that preceded him. In fact, the kalam he wrote in the Purbi ang led to him being titled “Khusrau-e-Saani” and it reflects the essence of the basic nuances of all Sufi concepts that speak of love towards the murshid and the Divine.
