thank you so much. we are going to stresa in may and are thinking about doing this train trip. i assume you can get off at any point and take a ferry or train back? not sure we want to do the whole journey.

Yes. The ticket, which at the time was €34 is valid all day on trains and boats. You can get off and catch a train or boat back at any city. Don’t forget a snack and sun screen. :)

dayenjoyer FUN hearing from you. Zermatt is the Swiss town by the Matterhorn, apparently just a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Stresa. A bucket list trip for me... Oh, if you ever suffer insomnia. Ck out my KZbin site. All the best! Keep on truckin'

I live in Luino. Life on Lago Maggiore is pretty good.

Yes i have. And I stayed in Villa Crespi and took a photo with Antoni Cavacuolo. I visited Bellagio too. What a great area; living at its best.
