Unbelievably, I had a similar experience recently in a law court. A loquacious rude local defence lawyer said he couldn't understand my accent...that I should speak "Nigerian English". And when I told him I couldn't help with the way I spoke, he rambled about my anatomy, saying that I shouldn't look at him with "that your big eyes" (should be: those big eyes of yours!). Surprisingly, he wasn't cautioned by the Recorder - an intelligent, respectable and very attentive person - throughout this exchanged.

@@Hericoni I am aware of that. The FG has to act for the greater good of the country and I have no problem with the coastal road in principle. It will ,in the long run, probably bring greater benefits to the country as a whole than LM beach. However, the FG must still act in accordance with the law and due process. LM obtained title to that property legally and therefore LM are fully entitled to be compensated. I would expect that any compensation would actually have been agreed before demolition, but I guess in Nigeria things are done differently.
