This video really gives a good *feel* to the noise and vibrations to be had in a race car of that era. I've seen with other videos that many on-board video cams are positioned in race cars that gives the impression of a smoothness found in passenger vehicles; when in reality, what the drivers experience are different. But this video gives a feel of what the driver is experiencing with the buffeting wind, vibrations, and noises; where it is one of the best _virtual_ experiences I may have being in a 600 hp race car.

Been around that glorious track many a time. Always a great memory. Well done Jim, and a tip of the hat to the gents who were sensible and good sports on the track. Job well done and really fun to watch these great cars.

BTW: I've been bringing my young son to the historics for a while, and most of the drivers are truly racing their autos. They are pushing themselves and their beloved machines to the limit. You've got to remember that these autos are quite bare-bones. It takes great strength to drive one. They are like rocket-powered go-karts. Thank you to all owner/racers for sharing your passion with us.

I like to live in peace with my next door neighbors, so i put my headphones on and turn the volume up. INCREDIBLE!! And on top of that, that sound of the gearbox! I downloaded it 'cause everyone i know i have to make part of it. I'm from Belgium, so we were never able to see and hear cars like this. Great vid.

And to think this is what Bruce McLaren experienced in that 200 mile/324 km race on the old Laguna Seca circuit in 1967; where he lapped the field.

It is a prototype, just 44 years old! The important thing to remember about the M6B JP is in, is that its only built to last 1-2 race weekends, with 10 lap races. The drivetrain is rebuilt after. A modern prototype can run faster laps for much longer periods of time.

Jim, is this M6B your favorite over the M8A's, M8B High Wings, M8B Low Wings, M8D's, M8F's, M20's? I salute you Jim & your race crew for keeping Bruce McLaren's dreams alive. Great video of the "Orange Team".

Jim I remember an article he had in the Auto World magazine about "Working by day & Gearbox nights" in a 1974 issue or 1976 issue. It still is very beautiful McLaren in my books also Jim. Thank you for the reply back, and the best for Jim Pace Motorsports in 2014 and the future.

The acceleration looks vicious... You can`t rush that car by the looks of it... Slow inputs and metered throttle pick up or you`re in a world of hurt... But Jim actually makes it look like a normal human could drive that thing properly....

Great race, sounds, cars, and track. But I feel like the people in front kind of let the onboard driver pass, especially the guy in first. The guy like waved to him. idk. Great watch nonetheless

Nice to see some proper racing cars rather than the silent F1 cars of the modern era and electric milk float series. Motorsport should be noisy, smelly and dirty, or it's nothing.
