Maybe someone can answer this question, I was talking to my brother about Lagwagon and how Joey's voice always sound bad on these live videos and he told me that he thinks he remembers hearing that Joey had some kind of surgery back in the late 90's or early 2000's. I left the scene from about 98-05' so I didn't pay attention to these guy's anymore but if that's true then it explains his voice, anybody got any info on that?

I think it’s just age, plus not really taking care of his voice (smoking, drinking, partying). He’s in his 50s now, so it’s not entirely surprising. I remember seeing Lagwagon a few times between ‘97-‘02 and they always sounded great. I’ve noticed his voice sounding weak in clips from maybe the last 10 years.

To me he just makes effort to sing properly these days instead of the more hardcore style from the old days. His voice is pretty unique and one of the most recognisable in punk. I guess on tour it just takes a beating with the lifestyle etc. ♥

I liked the new LP, but it was more of a new, well produced Resolve meets Trashed type of style songs for about 70% of the album, AND DUDE, Capes, what's your deal??? You really wanna re-write Island of Shame meets every song on Duh? Or do you wanna kill it like you do with songs on *HANG* like those that remind me of "After You My Friend", "Feedbag of Truckstop Poetry" (one of those memorable bonus tracks that were better than half the B-sides SOOO much that it outweighs the record!)
