Nice to know that a fire alarm still works at 5:40. Still, it's amazing to see so much non-flammable material being reduced to ash like it was made of tissue paper.

It does if you have a half decent understanding of how fire works. Fire does not just go through like a tsunami, it catches and spreads based on wind, proximity of things, materials, water content, whether it is flammable (I.e cars). Yes in some areas grass and trees aren’t burnt but in more areas they are burnt to a crisp. Yes some signs are unharmed but others are not. Residents have said how they sprayed their houses down with water which saved their house but not the one next to them, otherwise it could be as simple as the materials the house is made of (many in town are timber not not all of them are), the amount of space around the house, concrete surrounding instead of dry grass, wind direction. All of these things add up and make sense if you put the effort in to learning how fire works and spreads, people just don’t want to put in the effort. Fire is fire, and once someone can explain how a ‘laser’ started fire would somehow save some trees but a natural fire wouldn’t, people might take y’all more seriously. If we started focusing on the real issues at hand instead of distracting with conspiracies maybe we’d actually get something done as a species. It’s like moths banging their head over and over into a ceiling light thinking it’s the moon.

You're right, this is how fire spreads in drought ridden, farm ravaged land in a remote isolated location with tightly packed, ancient wooden structures. All of this with hurricane force winds without the normally associated hurricane related precipitation.

Even as one MYSELF who often dons a "Tin-foil-hat" when being suggested or even TOLD what to think by our Fourth Estate, "experts", and other authority figures/types; I have my doubts about "lasers" being employed here. With all that^^^ being said, I will confess that I myself have some STRONG suspicions that we are indeed being fed "junk food"** by those in authority here. But I could be wrong. Maybe this tragedy was just pure accident due to "Mother Nature/"God" and perhaps some HONEST mistakes made by others? But I'm perhaps WAAAY too cynical myself to believe THAT....Plenty of OTHER things besides a terrible fire in Maui has aroused MY cynicism/suspicion.😶 **"Junk food" is still "edible"....Unlike BULL 💩 or even HUMAN 💩 (If you can dig what I'm saying?) 😜

What I don't understand is ... who decided what pieces of Living areas and what Commercial Buildings and Properties were on the list to either be burnt out and which properties were to be untouched.. AND ... in the Propane Storage area ... I wonder how many Cubic Meters of Propane was in storage tanks before the "FireStorm" and how many Cubic Meters are in the storage tanks, now..

No idea why I would think of this, but it's going to be hard to identify all the thousands of cars. Stamped license plates are longer made. Will the serial number on the corner of the dash be readable on a burnt car? I hope everyone who owns a house or business had insurance. Still it will take a few years to rebuild

(My family has been to Lahaina twice & my friend & his wife were just there in April, so we can personally sympathize with their inhabitants! ) Unlike other disasters, this one was clearly due to fire alone! As such, the insurance companies, covering this conflagration, must fully assume financial responsibility & will probably declare bankruptcy or go broke!

A wildfire with that strong of winds would have left debris all over the roads. Roads and sidewalks are too clean for a wildfire. If a car is going to melt, any trees within 10' would not be standing.

Think of it THIS way perhaps....You are the adult "holy" person on an "airplane" with us "child sinners". The OXYGEN masks drop for some reason and the "pilot" tells you to put them on. YOU put YOURS on FIRST?? (But HEY...If the kid is smart enough to know how to put her/his OWN "mask" on....Problem "solved" right??? "God helps those who help themselves", NO? That ain't in the Bible?? Oh, that's something that came out of BENJAMIN FRANKLINS "unholy" mouth? Nevermind. 👹🙉🙈🙊

Did you see the Chocolate Factory? All the other industries were barely touched .
@IchimokuCloud
@IchimokuCloud Жыл бұрын
The chocolate factory is undamaged but the spooky alarm was sounding for about 2 days. Their propane tanks were exposed to the conflagration across the street at Kaiaulu residence but thankfully did not explode. My view on why most of the industrial area was spared is wind direction and building construction. Most buildings are metal or non wood materials. The new apartment building Kaiaulu was 4 F wood construction. The embers likely carried to Lahainaluna and into the Emerald shed although I am not sure the time this fire occurred.

8:53 fires on car lots are very dangerous. We had one burn near an apartment complex on a windy day, like 35 mph with 50 mph gusts, and it torched many units and put many homeless. There is your smoking gun. And by the looks of google maps, it’s out in the edge of town where it may have got into town.
