I’m from the Azores islands. It’s like the Hawaii of Europe. It’s so green and humid there, because there islands like Hawaii. I just want to know how green vegetation burn like that. Have you ever tried to burn wet green wood? Come on! This was deliberate. I feel so awful for the Hawaiians. This property I believe is being stolen from them

I can still remember the rest of Lahaina surrounding the Banyan Tree.

Still hard to accept what happened there, and I can only begin to imagine how the locals who live there feel today. I hope people's hearts are healing

We vacationed in Lahaina just days before the fire. So saddened to see that history gone. The people will rebuild but what's most saddening is the lost historical sites, artifacts in the museums and the locals losing so much. God speed Lahaina!

I hope the town will build fireproof structures this time. Concrete Tilt-up construction or form poured. Because even though they say lightning doesn't strike twice, I wouldn't trust it.

I hope that they do not build so close to this tree again. Last time I was there I was really disappointed at the over abundance of building that detracted from its natural beauty. A simple Lahaina was much more appealing to me and I know the native Hawaiians would agree as I have spoken to several when I have visited. It’s coming back to life nicely.

The United States should rebuild these peoples houses! They wanted Hawaii! Take care of your people first! This was an attack on Maui because their land was wanted by the elites? We all know what’s going on in the world ! 🌎 😢

OK so video of clean up. Now reality show us where the cleanup items went. Do a full story of event. What happened to the waste, its an island??
@Lelabear21 күн бұрын
They dumped all the toxic waste in a landfill on sacred land (Pele's womb) where it can drain into the ocean by the mother coral reef. All the protesting and testimony were in vain.

They're still cleaning up. Residents are starting to be able to start construction. Thousands of buildings were destroyed, it takes a while to clean all that up.

Honestly I don't give a crap about the stupid tree!! I've seen it, it was nothing special!! Look how much of Maui burned!! This is where me and my ex wife went on our baby moon went before my son was born!! The rest of Maui is what I loved!! Businesses across the street burned to the ground that I visited! Restaurants that we visited! Homes of locals and more! Innocent people killed!! And we're praising a stupid F'ing tree???
