Nowadays we muslims are only using SUFISM for fun in qawali or in music, nobody except few are interested wants to know the actual meaning of SUFISM and try to practice. In short, wo namaz,roza ya koi bhi ibadat jisme, kalb shamil nahi, ya wo raqsh jisme kalb ki hazri he, us namaz se behtar he, magar jis tarah, shariyat agar bal he to tarikat uski mang he, ganza kaise mang nikal sakta he, Sufi ka taalluk tarikat se he.

He is totally paranoid about West. West always does impartial research whatever topic they choose. Rumi lived all his life western Turkey. A French did research about Mansoor Hillaj which very authentic. Andalusia was once the hub of Sufism. He is only trying to interpolate salfi thoughts into Sufism. Tasuwaf and Sufism is same thing. There is no sting in Islam that needs to be taken out. It is simply sweet and loving and that is the essence of Islam.

The true tasawwuf, or true Islamic Sufism, is that which aligns with the sacred guidelines of the Holy Qur'an and noble Sunnah. At its core is ihsan - to worship as if you see Allah, and if you cannot, know that He sees you. Its purpose is marifah, the intimate recognition and knowledge of Al-Ilah, The God. Genuine Sufism has no space for innovations and distortions some misguided "dervishes" have propagated. One needs no tariqa nor bayah to walk the Sufi path. In fact, I say it is best to avoid bayahs in this age where most "pirs" are bereft of basic Islamic knowledge.
