Late Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan was father of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This raag is being sung by Ustal Mubarak Ali as well but he is from Tonk Rajasthan (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mubarak_Ali)

No doubt he is a seasoned artiste Ustad. But his Gayaki leans more on the lighter Thumri Ang projection of the Raga and Surak Murak in Badhat and Vistaar of the Raga. With due respect I feel saying that his Gayaki doesn't match his age of 78 years. Its remarkable. Son Akbar Ali is also very promising.

Akbar Ali seems to have a real problem bringing out the rag bhav. Jog and singing with Mubarik Ali Khan sahab make it very obvious. There is no doubt he is a good singer and can do a lot with his voice. Not only that but he has a good quality to his voice. For some reason he ends up sounding like a lot of boring khyal singers who try to copy Ustad Amir Khan. There is a long way to go before he internalizes the music and we hear Akbar Ali the artist. LMF seems to be the perfect stage to develop him but I hope he is getting good feedback and not just compliments.
