Pakistan 🇵🇰 police is very competent and able, but they have an odd way of doing things. My wife became a victim of theft and went to police station and reported the theft but couldn’t give any names because she didn’t know. Following day the thief returned one item which was her UK 🇬🇧 passport. My wife went back to the police station and told the officer what happened and named the thief who turned out to be her brother in law. The police still recorded unknown thief. When the wife said to the officer why are you writing unknown, I just gave you the name. Officer replied let me do my job my way. Any how it became clear who the thieves were. After that she had to go again and again to the police station. The criminals were called to the police station as well. The case ended up going to few different places. The case was investigated by a SHO, 3 DSPs, SP, CPO. Then it went to a board where 3 DSPs investigated. Every officer found the criminals guilty but it took 3/4 months before they charged them. It has now been nearly a year and my wife is still in Pakistan 🇵🇰 waiting for a prosecution. She went to Pakistan 🇵🇰 for 4-8 weeks. The criminals are all lawyers. That is another reason why the police were reluctant to charge the criminals. It is a mess. The police need retraining. The prosecution should be done within 2/3 months, no years. I am afraid the situation might turn dire and lives could be lost. Hoping for the best.
