Leonard Cohen's The Future is one of the darkest and gloomiest songs ever written (The Laibach version is phenomenal especially the video). In all of this gloom one ray of light shines through; "Love's the only engine of survival". And now Laibach have given us a song of light that gives hope in these very dark and gloomy times.

I only just discovered this band a few weeks ago.. and it was because of a comment in a KZbin video when someone mentioned this scary show that they watched with a band called Laibach and how they dramatised the Queen song One Vision into a frightening fascist dictatorship type scenario.. So I had to take a look and I liked what I saw.. But being a Rammstein fan I feel like I’ve been ripped off for many years, because it seems like Rammstein have stolen their sound from Laibach.. because Laibach have been around for a lot longer than Rammstein, it’s just a shame that they didn’t get the recognition that Rammstein did.

Rammstein even 'ripped off' LAIBACH's symbol/logos - except i believe they are a genuine tribute band, inspired and driven by their idols, just nowhere near as profound. Which also explains why they became much more popular.

Laibach are the undisputed masters of the cover song. They do in fact cover Rammstein's Ohne Dich and America

they didn’t “steal their sound” they were just inspired by Laibach, but it is a shame that Laibach’s work is less well known, especially since they are a lot more experimentálne than Rammstein.

@@LinusBitchTits Yeah I get what you’re saying but with Rammstein there are not many other industrial rock groups that sound like them so I thought that they were unique until I found out that Laibach were around a lot earlier than Rammstein. You can say that a lot of groups were influenced by the Beatles or Motörhead, which were both pioneers in Pop and Metal.. but Laibach are so unique that you don’t hear many bands apart from Rammstein.. so I think of it like someone copying a Faberge Egg and outselling Faberge which I think is unfair but also unlucky because it’s a free world after all.

@@walteredstates I think Rammstein have a lot more younger fans also, which is possibly due to the faster high energy that they apply to their songs.. they are more powerful in sound.. but on the other hand Laibach are a lot deeper and more profound in a certain way which makes them so unique.
