Steps is extremely pleased to announce the launch of the Laila’s Steps Fund.
Laila is an extraordinary little girl who was born with Fibular Hemimelia. Fibular Hemimelia is a partial or total absence of the fibula and is the most common form of lower limb deficiency present at birth.
Laila had her leg amputated when she was 18 months old. Now her family have set up Laila's Steps Fund to ensure there is emotional and practical support for those facing amputation. The Fund will also help provide prosthetics for those without access, especially in developing countries, and will support new Stepin Camps - weekend activity trips to the Lake District.
