Just in case, here is a step by step on breaking the economy in Fable 1. Yes this works in all versions, and all game modes, even the hero mode in anniversary. The only difference is that you need higher guile to make it work effectively. Step 1: Get at least 4/7 guile (may need higher guile in harder modes. You can be safe and just max it out, but it definitely works on all modes by 6/7) Step 2: Get 30+ of any item, you can start with health potions if you want and move up to gems later. The more of the item you have, the greater the profit, so buy buy buy. Personally I use health potions at first and then move up to rubies because you can farm them from the forest troll at the lake area. Step 3: Go to a shop that will allow the buying and selling of that item. For health potions go to the south bowerstone general shop right by the entrance, and for rubies/ other gems go to the general store in Oakvale, just as an example, you can use other shops. Step 4: Buy all of their stock on that item. Step 5: Sell all of your stock of that item back to that same shop keep. You don't even need to close the menu. Rinse and repeat, make tens of thousands of gold. Ta-dah. You have broken the economy. Enjoy. Also, make sure that you finish off by buying all of the stuff back so you can do it again later if you need more gold.
