Serial Experiments Lain was one of the first anime I ever saw. I had to download the episodes over a 56k modem, it took about 9 hours an episode. Each episode was a treat and I wanted it to last as long as possible so I never skipped the intro/outro. I haven't thought about this in maybe 10+ years and now I'm suddenly awash with memories. I guess what I'm trying to say is thanks for all the feels. 1 minute and 33 seconds. What a trip!

I don't skip intro's outro's ever, on any show. Even if you don't like the song, it gives you time to prepare for the show to start or time to decompress after the episode ends. They add so much to the mood and I personally think it's disrespectful to the authors to skip it.

That's a wonderful performance and singing voice. I'm Japanese. I was born a few years after the serial experiments lain's anime was broadcast, but I liked the melancholy atmosphere of the world view that attracted me very much, and I immediately became a fan of lain. It brings me back to a difficult time in my life when I was a teenager, I remember listening to this song while I was writing my thoughts on my laptop the night before my grandmother died. She had Dementia and was bedridden and I distinctly remember turning around and closing my laptop only to see her awake looking at me with a tear in her eye even though I knew that she didn't know who I was. That was the last time I saw her alive and this song reminds me of that night
