The last tip is so spot on! I almost never wear black, but when I do I make sure it has a fun texture like a ruffle or maybe velvet, or it has an interesting silhouette. It definitely spices up an ordinary black top to something more interesting!

I crochet and I made this little 3-D butterfly and a flower. I've started to pin them to a regular tank top or something similar to spice up the outfit.. because it's hard to layer or wear something interesting in the D.C. humidity in the summer!!!!! I also make crochet bandanas/kerchiefs which I wear all the time. It's become what I'm known for at work and amongst friends.

I love the belt idea!! I also always forget to wear them; I need to make them more visible!! Another thing that I feel helps me appear a little more 'cool' when I'm running late and I'm again putting on a T-shirt and jeans or leggings (which is almost always the case on a daily basis, to be honest, lol) is simply using a not so common graphic T-shirt. I buy a lot from independent artists that i like and even those with very 'dad jokes' that you often find in thrift stores. I feel like it helps add a unique touch to my look, and people always comment on them. It may not be a sophisticated styling technique, but I find that when I'm running late and don't have the time or effort to put into styling something more elaborate, it makes me feel less dull, lol.

Oh my gosh rugby shirts!! 😎 So cute! I used to wear them from American Eagle waaaay back in the day lol. Absolutely right with styling. You could have the same clothing items and have different outfits once you change the bag, belt , jewelry and shoes! I wear a belt everyday with my denim!

thank you for addressing the fact that the "styling vs wearing" videos are a bunch of accessory overloads that coco chanel would die a slow death over. I honestly don't care for them most of the time because they usually ruin perfectly cute outfits with a bunch of unnecessary overstyling/ End rant lol. All that to say I much perfect small changes like this. A belt a bow maybe a funky purse or edgy shoes.

I really love this idea and how accessible it is! Is it possible to do like a fashion for poor people video? Theres really no real tips online on what to prioritise for your wardrobe if your poor as hell or how you might be able to DIY some things to have better looks if you get me? I'm dirt poor and prefer thrifting (for money & ethical reasons) but yeah its hard to know how to up your fashion and look nice with very limited shoes / basics, and outdated clothes and would really help to know wheres the best bang for your buck & how to make the most of what you have because I cant afford anything rn and dont want to spend hundreds to have a few decent outfits! i think our generation is too used to cheap jewelry, there’s a big difference between jewelry from amazon packs and real pieces. i was lucky to be gifted an cocktail ring (rings with larger but less expensive gemstones as the centerpiece) and i always get compliments on it because it actually stands out from the faux gold “stacking” ring packs. similar to clothing, this cheap jewelry is getting tarnished and thrown away bc it has no intrinsic value. If we go back to buying all real (or at least higher quality) pieces, i think jewelry can start to feel special again. there def are some fun pieces at the thrift, so anyone who can repurpose those items and make them work, i envy.
