YOOOO sooooo hyped! Caught this the day after because I'm always busy during the live broadcast but was able to swoop the Jeron board.. I'm a professional artist and one of my biggest inspirations growing up was always girl chocolate and stereo. Won the signed Crop and Eddy boards a while back and now I got one more. Need a Kelly signed board and if Niall can hit me up I wanna make something funny for Ron and send it to y'all to have him sign and ill include return shipping with it.. just want the ultra blessing! Cheers!

Sad day for Lakai, I grew up on the brand since the first ads. And wore all the shoes in the beginning. That being said I hope those guys can go onto the nikes new balance and adidas and make some honest money. Lord knows they deserve that much.

Why are they talking like rick and mike have nothing to do with the company anymore? it literally says they've been given 10% of the company to keep them involved with the opportunity to buy the company back at any point. As you mentioned Rick and Mike haven't owned the company since 2017 lakai was owned by HUF and HUF has been owned by TSI in japan since then. TSI have been trying to sell lakai for over a year, that says to me that Rick and Mike could have bought back the company at any point over the last year but knew it wasn't worth the asking price as they knew full well how much money it was loosing. They didn't tell anyone on the team about someone new buying the company? That's a touch shady to me on their part. In my humble opinion it's better that it's now owned by one guy, as opposed to a corporate japanese holding company as it has been for the past 7 years.

Reread the post and listen carefully to Vince. They got the option to keep 10% if they fell in line with Marcs vision. The team knew and met the new owner and he misled the guys. While Mike and Rick did make some poor business decisions they were transparent. Riley Hawk( one of the only riders that didn’t ride for a crailtap company) wouldn’t have thanked Rick and Mike. He doesn’t have to worry about offending them. Not an attack on you just a clarification. This is coming from a Nike dunk/ blazer skater.

It’s been a wounded animal suffering an agonizing death for over a decade, and it should have been put out of its misery once they screwed over Koston. correct me if i am wrong, but people would rather see Lakai completely go out of business with mike and rick...correct? cause it seems like people aint so happy about a marc (who actually is a skater) saving Lakai, which actually means putting money into a losing business. if he aint passionate about skating or lakai, he wouldn't do that i thought? from other channels, it has been talked about that those 23% of the team dont even wear Lakai's anymore and shit and doesn't do much for the brand. i am really looking looking forward to how this will turn out.

So you want Lakai, a failing business losing millions, saved from bankruptcy without any cost-cutting measures or changes in leadership? And so it was better to nuke the entire brand than to agree to painful cuts? And the new owner of this failing business somehow NEEDS to be a millionaire and pro skater? I'm just wondering what possible solution would have made everybody happy? Rob Dyrdek descends from the sky with $100 million and says "Here ya go Rick and Mike, don't change anything at your company and it'll all be fine" ???? RIP Lakai, you deserved better

I do love your podcast. One thing that I would like to see however is more transition and vert skaters, particularly from the female side. I know that you have had some guests on, but in the grand scheme of things if you went through your episode lists, it would be in the single digit percentile if you included men in that demo. Sure, not as popular as street, but it would help. Also, the growth in the industry has been primarily from girls/females. I do love your show, but as the father of a 12 year daughter on a flow deal, I wish she would watch your show but as she likes to say 'dad, it's a little to skater bro for me and they never have transition and vert skaters on'. Sure, you had Bryce on. Amelia so she could promote Exposure. That's great. But it is few and far between. I get it, you guys are street skaters, but I live in NYC where transition skaters are routinely disparaged by the street community, it would be nice if you could also have more diversity from the skate community.

I like the idea of supporting skater owned companies, and do as much as possible. But I am an unashamed Half-Cab man, through and through(and Rowley's now that they're back). Vans was never skater owned, we just kind of adopted each other early on. And I think VF has done a pretty decent job with the brand. We'll see if any of their wokeness dies down with the new political trends coming in, 🙂.

So turns out the guy who bought Lakai is a life long skating and his company buys/ is hired to save failing businesses. Who knows if Mike and Rick walked or where fired and what actually happened vrs what’s being said. Also turns out a lot of the pros were not even wearing or promoting the gear. Maybe should wait to speak on things tell you actually know what’s going on. Dan Webs put out a video the same day as this with 10 times the research and actually trying to be unbiased. Love you guys but maybe before we bury companies we should make sure they actually deserve it…

@@thenineclubhe didn’t seem to know anything, he just didn’t want to take a 90 day contract. Totally up to him, but every job I ever worked had a 90 day probation. If they were just making sure the guys got paid during the transition and wanted to rewrite contracts that seems reasonable. Sure it could have been shady but most likely wasn’t. And if the old owners were going to straight ignore the owners wishes he has every right to say I don’t want you involved. Sucks but if the team riders aren’t doing their part…
