लकवे में यादाश क्यों जाती है ? | Paralysis Memory Loss | Post Stroke Memory Loss | Dr. Puru Dhawan
In this video, we will be talking about memory. Paralysis can have a detrimental effect on memory too. The patient tends to forget his family and relatives and often to speak.
Paralysis relates to brain clots, swelling in the brain, brain tissue damage, and vein rupture. And brain’s principal function is to facilitate the movement of hands or legs and aid memory and speech. Any damage to the brain’s parietal and temporal region affects these.
Sometimes a patient is also seen to have forgotten the language. He can understand and talk around the stuff but can't read or name it. Sometimes he is forgetful about performing basic mathematical calculations too.
But you don’t have to worry. The patient generally recovers or at least shows signs of improvement from the memory loss within six months due to a mechanism called neuroplasticity. Unfortunately, medicinal support is provided only after six months.
Our patient Arun Kumar, 2016 Jan, paralysis stroke during angiography. He showed tremendous improvements in the initial six months, but later it stagnated. He was then advised a few dietary precautions and balancing exercises at Sai Sanjeevani. Fundamental routine changes like a morning walk are recommended to be incorporated into the routine. People around the patient should also maintain communication to bring back the memory.
