Lake Arrowhead is a man made lake that was built in 1912 and originally was named Little Bear Lake. This lake was made to be a reservoir to release water down to San Bernardino but soon the homeowners agreed to not release water and keep the lake full. There is a 3,000 foot tunnel underneath the lake that is hidden for irrigation purpose. The tunnel that I got to tour today was Tunnel One of the Lake Arrowhead tunnels. Very cool history and a lot of tunnels all over these mountains. Come visit the Rim of the World Historical Society Museum to find out more information.
