Lake Bohinj & Up Vogel Cable Car for the BEST Views

I have a story about that Cable car! Been there in september 2021, stayed near the Bled. One afternoon i wanted to go to "Seven Lakes valley" which is towards triglav. My idea was i will save my self 3 hours and lof of elevation by a cable car ride, i will just hike to the lakes, visit a cottage, get some refreshment, and i figured i would then hike all the way down to the lake in late evening/early night. What happened was, i googled for cable car at lake Bohin, hit the "navigate" button in my google maps and off i went. Got to the cable car, bought a one way ticket up, by the time i would go down, the car wouldnt be running anymore. Imagine my suprise, when i got off the cable car at the top station, started looking at my maps to navigate me to the lakes that were supposed to be some 3 hours away, maps were showing times like, 8+ hours. Took me a moment to realize, those maps were navigating me down the mountain back to the lake level, then around the lake back up and all the way to the "seven lakes valey" So... Yea, i took the wrong cable car, ended up on the wrong side of the valley... (: I fugred i am not gonna make the 7 lakes in reasonable time, so i went up the ski slopes towards Vogel. It was end of summer, just gravely hills. I made it almost to the peak Vogel, I turned off the mountain ridge just short of it for a way down the mountain towards the bae of the cable car. crossed amazing meadow at GPS: 46.246821, 13.823700. The way down was quite something, not much of a challenge, just very long and boring. I met a group of youngsters wearing sneakers abound half way down theese steep roads. I could tell these youngsters were not having a good time, struggling down the steep, gravely "roads" that were as steep as ski slope. Seven lakes valley remains on the bucket list, next time i will make sure to take the correct cable car :)

Thanks for your comment. I was there at the very beginning of May and it was jumper/light jacket weather. I'm living in the mountains in Montenegro now and current weather down here is sunshine, but chilly. You'll love Slovenia, are you visiting anywhere else in the Balkans?
