This is better than 99% of the internet. The world is incredibly beautiful when people don't overdevelop.

We sailed/motored a sailboat from Lake St.Louis southwest of Montreal to Burlington via Sorel and the Richelieu river. It was a beautiful trip and when we got to Vermont, we raced the boat for a week, then headed back home with a shiny trophy. What a memorable voyage.

My time stationed at Plattsburgh Air Force base I frequented the lake for fishing, particularly Rouses Point.Great Northern pike were caught on an old railroad trestle. The base had a marina and I and others would travel out and around local waters.

The canons came from Fort Ticonderoga. The Crown Point fort was mostly abandoned by the time of the American Revolution, having been severely damaged in a kitchen fire soon after it was built in 1762

Great video, thank you! I'd love to know - are the forests surrounding the lake comprised of evergreen or deciduous trees, or is it a mix of both?

I wonder where ancient Scotland in geological terms connected its Loch Ness with Lake Champlain. Interestingly, both lakes have a lake monster. I bet you there's a wormhole there, kind of like Skinwalker Ranch.

They need to do a better job controlling the run-off from all the farms on both the Vermont and New York side. It's created algae problems in the lake. I didn't know about the ecologically rare species being so prevalent here! I actually learned a LOT from this video and I used to go here once a year in my youth, even seeing Champy once.

Not a Great Lake, just a great lake. The companion video of the southern piece of the lake is good, too.

Plattsburgh is spelled incorrectly...if this small error exists, what other errors are in your video?

I left VT after high school and today looking at the state I find it disturbing that it has been such a poor steward of the lake. Leeching phosphorus from fetilizers used by all of those farms on the eastern shores have lead to the toxic algae problem that Lake Champlain is experiencing now. Surprising from a leftist state that claims to be eco-friendly. They ought to be ashamed of themselves but knowing the VT mentality I am certain that they are not.
