A pleasant low level Lake District walk from the village of Elterwater to Little Langdale and the delightfully quaint Slaters Bridge. Returning via Colwith Force and Skelwith Force, two local waterfalls, and passing by Elterwater, the Lake after which the village is named.

Thank you. I remember the first time I did this walk thinking that it was as good as any mountain trek, particularly if taking young children. The bridge always fascinates people and fires their imagination of life a couple of hundred years ago.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, Eric. Made using older equipment but still enjoyable to watch. Not an area we’ve explored much so far so I think we’ll give it a try next visit.

Thank you. I have fond memories of that day. It certainly was older equipment, the camera was seven years old when I shot it. As for exploring the area, well I advise including Cathedral Cave, which is close to Slaters Bridge. It has played a part in several films, all of which were on a much bigger budget than I have ever had. I was watching 'Snow White and the Huntsman' a couple of years ago and not only did the characters walk along the edge of Lingmoor, with the Langdales clearly in the background, but they also stood in Cathedral Cave. As regards the plot of the film, well, I have no idea what it was about really. I'm not into fantasy, but the locations were beautiful!

Dated but still beautifully done. Tganks

Thank you. I have to agree that it now looks dated. It was shot on a cheap compact camera and edited in a fairly basic way, but it has seemed to stand the test of time.

After having recently discovered your channel, I've just now finished watching all of your videos. You really do excellent work. Stunning scenery of course, but also your narration is charming, interesting and informative. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos to come!

Thank you. You may not be surprised to learn that you are certainly not the first to say this. However, I have to stress than any similarity is entirely coincidental. I did meet AW on more than one occasion, and even went so far as to discuss the thorny subject of whether Blackburn Rovers would ever become England's top football team once more. He said it would never happen, but 3 years after his death, it did. He would have been chuffed to little mint balls.

@@jonathancraigguides what did he tell you off about Eric?
@jonathancraigguides
@jonathancraigguides 3 жыл бұрын
@@cosmofoxgaming1268 It was at the Belsfield Hotel, in Bowness. He was attending a lunch function where he was being presented with an award by the Country Landowners Association. I was working at the hotel, and he asked me the way to the toilet from the dining room. I told him to go out of the restaurant, turn right, walk past reception and down to the end of the corridor. He followed my instructions to the letter, however, the toilets are not actually at the end of the corridor, but on the right just before the end. AW missed the turning, and upon returning, accompanied by the head housekeeper, told me that when I give people instructions I should make sure that they are accurate!

@@jonathancraigguides brilliant Eric that’s hilarious! How ironic that a man known for guiding others , accosted you, a man who also guides others, for poor guidance! Thanks for sharing that story mate, all the best.
