Lake District Walks | Binsey (the northernmost Wainwright)

On an increasingly beautiful June day in 2021, Neil tackles Binsey, an arguably underrated fell and the northernmost of the Wainwrights in the English Lake District.
At just 447 m / 1,467 ft, Binsey is a very easy walk, but offers spectacular views south to the back of Skiddaw, Blencathra, the Northern and North Western Fells of the Lake District, as well as north across the Solway Firth to Scotland. On a clear day, Snaefell on the Isle of Man is also visible.

Did this at the weekend. Great view of Scotland!! followed by a nice cup of tea at Mae’s tearoom and gallery round the corner. Excellent homemade tea cake. Then set off to do Brae Fell, Great Sca Fell, Meal Fell, Great Cockup and Longlands. All good to do in a day

Probably the easiest hill in the whole Lake district, my friend was coming down and twisted her ankle very badly :) As Wainwright says WATCH WHERE YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR FEET.

I used to run up there and it's such a great little lung buster, but since moving away I only get to see it here on KZbin, by far the best yet. Would be great to see it in winter

Really enjoyed this video. Binsey was the first wainwright i walked up, on the first morning of my first trip to the lakes. The view of the Northern Fells is breath taking, unlike the walk up. However i don't think you can say you have conquered Binsey until you have attached the North face :)
