Good times. Arvel #theFitRealtor and Bear have a great day on the lake at Lake Elsinore in Lake Elsinore, CA. Whiskers Beach right at Townsend and Lakeshore Drive. Fishing for wipers; a wiper is merely a cross between a striped bass and a white bass, and is more accurately referred to as a hybrid striped bass.
The wiper’s appearance is intermediate between the two parents. It has six to eight dark horizontal stripes over a silver-white background with a dark charcoal to black back. It has two dorsal fins, the anterior with 8-10 sharp spines.
Wipers are very aggressive fighters, and tend to stay together in schools. Trolling baits or lures is the most common technique used to target them in many areas but they can also be caught on spin, bait casting, and fly tackle using artificial and natural baits.
For anglers, this means April and May are the best months to target wipers. Fisherman can take advantage of wiper’s springtime feeding habits by casting crankbaits, spinners or other shad imitations from shore or by trolling lures behind a boat in shallow water.
You can fish with a valid fishing license and a day fishing permit. Good times.

Those whipers were stocked 2 years ago and where only 2 to 4 inches big!! The fact they are so big now is a great sign. Might not catch any keepers this year, but next year they are all going to start getting good sizes

You don't necessarily need light line for Carp I use 12lb test and Whisker Beach gets Hella packed I be up there sometimes it gets annoying you catch some fish and the Chinese people (no offense) run up to you and try to keep the fish you're trying to release

@@fitfishing pack bait Bread Crumbs, Corn, Cream Corn, Strawberry Jello just pack it onto that setup your boy was using. I use that bait for pretty much every lake you've been going to on your channel

Whoever wants the small carp let them have em. Small carp are terrible for lake Elsinore. I think they took out over a million pounds of carp a couple years ago and they are still the highest population species! Leave big carp though, they eat all the baby carp 👍

Carp? Bait cage with a treble hook about six inches down full of corn. Meza mix in the cage. Catfish? Carolina rig with a 1/0 circle hook and garlic mackerel.

As long as you fish at a public beach like Whiskers Beach there’s no cost as far as I know. But Launchpointe charges a fee.

Lake Perris is tricky. I only have success at night. Try Lot 11/12 by the bathrooms or along the east shore past the boat launch. Lake Elsinore is great. Try it at night as well. Whiskers Beach produces and some other public beaches. Go to the website and look at the map. Mackerel and shrimp work well, nightcrawlers sometimes. Corn for Carp.

How you catching the wipers? Carolina rig with worm on the floor? Or do you keep the worm high in the water?

Carolina rig with an 12-18 leader. Piece of worm on a small treble hook and or a piece of mackerel. We also caught a couple on corn.
