Letting them go is nice. However, making a dinner is nice as well :) Hook them and drag them up on the Ice, kill one or a few of them, but now you have to eat them, otherwise a waste. To catch them and throw them away to waste is very bad (some people do). I HATE Pikes, but I release them gently, using an arterial forceps to twist out the hook, should I have the bad luck to catch one of those buggers, wich happens time to time... :) Walleye is regarded as first class fish in Sweden, however a bit complicated /difficult to debone perfectly so as children can eat with no nagging :) Allmost everything can be done well if the skill / training exists. In winter times, their survival probability is great, over 90%, if handled gently as you do. If only hooked in the outer mouth, survival is near 100% in cold water. Best Greetings from Sweden :)

Awesome video man! I would love to get out on Lake Erie ice fishing. Let me know if you can ever take me LOL I live in Northfield Ohio. Anyways what kind of rod and reel combo are you using? I'm looking to buy a stiffer combo for fishing on Lake Erie for walleye and possibly steelhead

good catches but are explaining what lure you like to use while the fish isn't breathing - put the fish back in and show off your lures after
@user31415926356 жыл бұрын
The fish was handled perfectly well, as if it was a little kid got snagged. How the fish gapes when landed, is not the like of humans in any situation. Perhaps the fish felt it was a bit cold. No lack of Oxygen anyhow. Now it soon got in to the warm water (4°C) again.

This guy sounds depressed. Most guys catching those fish would be happy as shit.
