Lake Garda, Italy - Desenzano & Sirmione

Within easy reach by a direct train from Verona, I visited the gorgeous town of Desenzano del Garda, on the southern shore of Lake Garda. From the small harbour, you can catch the boat across to Sirmione. In Desenzano, you can visit the castle on the hill or the Roman villa with its mosaics and the museum. The town has a long promenade with stunning views across the lake as well as beaches, upmarket shops and restaurants.
