great question, love that you noticed that it wasn't random. 2 things we dialed in for our bite: 1. depth. we found the fish were pulling up from deeper water ditches to closer docks so the depth range was 20-30 feet at the end of the dock 2. brush. our BEST docks in that depth range ALL had brush under them or around them
