I am from Uruguay, 85, no pilot, but I love aviation. What an excellent video! Most impressive scenery and picturesque hydroport/ airport to operate from.

Love seeing this restored and flying again. Last time I saw one of these was in Maine on Moosehead Lake just outside of Greenville. I’m a huge fan of vintage aircraft

Congratulations to all! I am so glad I was able to thank Tom Wardleigh for his service to Alaska airmen. His segments on Alaska Weather were, and still are, priceless! Hopefully those old stories have been written down...

Nice to see such an old aircraft still flying and even better that it's a seaplane.

Beautiful! Not bad for an 80 year old flying boat. Grumman ironworks and dedicated maintenance. I'd like to think that if and when I hit 80 I'm in such great condition!

Radials instead of PT6s. For historical reasons? Great looking plane. I used to watch them up in Kodiak flying in and out of the harbor.

Great to see a Goose back in flight. I got to fly in one back in my college days fire fighting with the BLM around McGrath, Alaska. Lots of fond memories and one fatal helicopter crash

Is this that same area where a plane was trying to takeoff, banked and crashed towards the left into those buildings not too long ago?

What us the purpose of that big patch of land in the middle of the lake? Is it man made?
@ButterflyMatt5 ай бұрын
Lake Hood Seaplane Base is adjacent to Anchorage International Airport. If you look at it in Google Maps it will be clear to you. In short, yes. The strip of land delineates and protects the “runway”.

"The plane! The plane!" No WAIT. That's a Goose. Even more impressive than a Widgeon.
@R760-E26 ай бұрын
The Widgeon from that show was a French built SCAN with R-680s. Dreadful airplane, particularly if compared to a nice McKinnon Widgeon.

If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and flies like a duck, it's a Grumman Goose! 😁😅😂🙃
