I do not understand the motion of turning your head to the side when asking the crowd to yell with you. Who are they looking at? It looks like they are lost and do know who they are calling on to yell with them. This motion of head or mannerism has been bothering me for years now. We did not do that when I was a cheerleader. We looked into the crowd at the people and yelled at them.
