My father and his brother drove on that bridge after they drove through Jackson, MS on the way down to New Orleans. They actually drove from Rochester, NY all the way down to Birmingham, AL before reaching Jackson and then drove to New Orleans. On way back home to Rochester, they drove to Mobile, AL before reaching Georgia to drive back to Rochester. My father said that New Orleans was a very interesting city. I was supposed to join them, but I didn’t make it because I had to go to a school in February in 1979. Oh well…

The incident in Baltimore Maryland bought me to see this bridge. Somehow, this bridge came up in conversation. Never knew this bridge existed but its pretty crazy to see. Thanks for sharing with us the experience....

It was on the Guinness World Records in 1969 until 2011. Over at Japan, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is the longest bridge now

That bridge isn't in Japan, it's in China. Also, it's still on the Guiness World Record as the world's longest continuous bridge over water.

Oh, this gave me anxiety and when it started raining? The longest one I crossed was in NC and it was only 5 mi. This is crazy! Wtg 😮
