Lake Shore Drive Chicago: Illinois 4K

Chicago has the most unique landscape as a city by a lake.

Never been to Chicago. However, 20 years ago, I always played a video game featuring the city. It was called Microsoft Midtown Madness. The real developers of the game later became Rockstar that now makes the Grand Theft Auto series. I enjoyed the game immensely back then when I was a kid. I also loved to land at Meigs field with Microsoft flight simulator. Too bad they closed the mini airport. The airport was so cute. The game was a miniature version of what I'm seeing from this video. I recognise a lot of places from the game.

If you're ever back, you should drive the whole Lake Shore Drive from the South Side to the North Side. I haven't seen a video where someone drives the whole length of it like that yet

The first time I visited Chicago (I am a Brit), I loved watching the traffic just rolling along Lake Shore Drive and vowed that one day I would hire a car and do the same. Well, I have been back a few times now and made my wish come true. It is a truly great experience even when it is busy because the speed limit is quite low and this allows you take take in the sights.

I’m surprised you didn’t use Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah’s song “Lake Shore Drive” as it was inspired by the very same road in this video. Missed opportunity there man.

@@ChrisHarden Fair. The ability for copyright abuse is large that I wish you and other content creators wouldn’t have to worry about it, but I can see why it’s put in place. I wish there was a better way that was a lot more open to fair use to be seen as fair use and not copyright infringement on the platform.

Same. I’d love to be able to play local artists for videos that I make on certain musicians home towns. Way too much money though to obtain the right to use those songs.

There didn’t appear to be many bridges crossing over that road, are there subways underneath so that pedestrians can access the lake?

There are pedways that go under lake shore drive that enable you to walk to the lakefront. Pedestrians cannot cross that busy expressway.

Hey, Soldier's Field and the McCormick places are important southside landmarks in Chicago. Also the Museum of Science and Industry which sees 1.5 million guest a year.

Not really. North side bound is equally beautiful Lake Michigan.
