FGW. I just want to say thank you for reigniting my old hobby. I used to prospect with a late friend. His passing really brought me down to the point I couldn’t prospect without him. We had more fun just walking through the woods and down the ‘Kirks’. We managed to find a few grams along the way and lots of nice garnets. Just shovels and pans. I’m originally from Michigan but moved to Ohio to be with my wife while she battled cancer. I am planning on picking up the old shovel and pan and getting my butt down to some of the local ‘Kriks’ here. I enjoy watching you and Rigbee, you guys always put a smile on me not to mention your expertise and advice. Thanks guys! Keep the great content coming!

Yeah, it can be a real pain! Had one spot with 3" of heavy black sand producing some almost pickers and at least 300+ pieces per bucket. Storms dumped 8 feet of blond over it and then it all washed out the next year. My other spot had good black sands, and that has washed a good 3 miles down the beach. Ain't humping my tub, bed, buckets and solar panels that far! Trudging that far through soft sand will kill ya!

Have you considered using a second concrete mixing tub instead of buckets? You can shovel into the tub easily and make mountain of paydirt. Put a rope with a handle on it so it slides like a sled. Like # 1.4k+ Long ass work day...signing in... Pabst cheers 🍻 Let's go!! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦 5:34 ......do you see what I see? Red iron in the gravel at the wave surface. There is a red streak here, that you need a pick to break the riverbed apart. So dark and stinky too! 8:30 you're going to have gold building up in your mouth on 2nd sluice. I had gold walk backwards. Found tones of black sand under my feeding plate, and that is when I knew gold walked backwards in water flow, just like the tapping on the front of pan...it makes the gold creep forward on the impact. You won't lose gold, because you're above water, but in a river layed down, say goodbye to color! Continuing the vid... 10:31 that's a Pabst Blue Ribbon size gold!! Cheers, # 3 now lol 12:56 ....impressive! Time for a Pabst brother! And then 13:45 comes along, and makes our eyes light up, with counting. Best pan I ever had, had easily 4000 color, only due to constant running. 8hr, then set aside, then next day spray it, lay it, feed it constantly, not allowing water to flow, when I'm not feeding it, because gold will drop lower, once riffles clear out. Constant material is the only answer in constant collecting....another drink of Pabst is needed now haha 🍻 14:20......omg you must be near half a flat of Pabst by now??? 🍻 Lmfao...I had to actually rewind, to sing that with you lol.......still laughing. Great add to the vid. 14:46 Poor Rigby! He was asleep, and you had a Pabst camera moment, and he literally jumped out his fur...he needs something now Jason!! Lol Cheers Dan 🍻 🇨🇦❤️ 20:57 I really would love it if you tapped the top, about 5 times....instant heaven!! Let's see what you do.... Lol....and then you do it...beautiful move!! Some just shake and pull...wrong move! 21:50 my guess....1.4g 22:17 ...YES A PABST!!!!🍻🍻🍻🇨🇦🇨🇦🍻🍻 22:50 🥶 oh god am I wrong on weight! Lol Great video Jason! Thanks for the 2.5hour distraction from life...like watering my plants, because it's dark now, because I started over 2hrs ago, but the misses beckons some times, and you know we gotta go for a moment....the "Be Right Back" moment haha. I still get it done, lol Cheers 🍻 enjoyed!!🇨🇦

@InfinityProspecting2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shiloh. I'm sorry to hear about your issue. The mats should feel like rubber and not be overly sticky although some particles may need to be lightly brushed out but a gentle spray should be enough to do a clean out. We have found there are two main causes for a mat to become "sticky." The first is a production or material problem that we've taken extreme precautions to prevent in the past year. The other much more common reason is that the rubber compound will slowly degrade when exposed to extreme and prolonged levels of sunlight and heat outside of normal use. We've had mats we've used for many seasons without any issue or sign of decay except perhaps the color fading but we also tested a mat baking in the summer and after about a month in the sun it got slightly sticky. The sticky mats are still use-able since they concentrate say 2 cups of heavy material vs a few dots of flour gold that might stick and fuse, which is still way more fine gold than would be recovered with other products and 99.9% as much as a non sticky VDR mat. Please send us some pictures of the mat as well as some information about when you noticed it was sticky and the conditions you used it in. We will also double check the production information to see what we can do for you. Thanks! Tyler info@infinityprospecting.com

I like that underflow feature you added, really allows the gold to break through that water tension. Makes you wonder how much gold was floating out of the box before you added that. Great job though

Outstanding trip. I noticed no flies, makes for easier time. Great spot, I will get up there someday. Little bit of a drive from Cincinnati. Lake Erie is closer, however I would imagine it’s not as plentiful as Superior.

I used to pan for gold in TN, flour gold and realized real quick it cost me more to drive to the mountain than the gold was worth, 10 years ago open up a gold store and buy gold every day, lot cheaper than I can pan for it.

@@FlourgoldWizards I'm from back there, never prospected till I moved to Oregon 20 yrs ago. We have tons of beach gold, even a town named that, no one really messes with. It's definitely an art getting the fines out of sand. I have a couple buckets, I might play with. Love the vids, very inspiring.

You need a dredge like they do in Alaska add a garbage pump to pump water in the hole and use a dredge to pull the material out and over the dredge.

16:08 Jason, An excellent show as always. On the west coast in Washington we are limited to a 360” surface area space for hobbyist and serious prospecting in our sluice boxes. Are there size limitations in Wisconsin? Also, are prospectors there expected to prevent the outflow from panning and sluicing mixing back into the lakes and streams? Apparently prospectors in your area are not limited to the square inch or square centimeter area of your sluices, that must be very easy and less headaches.
@FlourgoldWizards Жыл бұрын
It’s actually 4 square ft of sluice area on the beach which is decent!

That sluice worked great! Way to find the gold!🍻

Thank you for making this cool video, I very much enjoyed it. You are a hoot. I wish I lived up there near you so you can teach me how to do all of that, but I'd rather use a boat to get to best spots instead of walking since I'm a disabled veteran. I'm a builder an inventor, I like to make things better than they was and I know I would be able to come up with a better system on seperation gold from the sand while still on the beach like you use your set up with different trays. I already have two great ideas, I will have to see an do a search if anyone else ever thought about it this way in the past. I believe it will work great. Anyway have a great day and enjoy life and do what ever makes you happy. That's what I know an you will live alot longer. Proven Fact Right There. By the way, the gold is hidden in the black sand deposits, but where did the gold come from to get into the black sand. I'd think you would have alot better luck out in the water and put a hose from boat to bottom of the lake and suck up the gold. Right
@FlourgoldWizards2 жыл бұрын
I like the boat idea to be more mobile but im from outa state and its a real hassle !! Most of the gold came from gold rich deposits in Canada and were pushed here by the glaciers . Im sure a dredge in the lake would prove quite effective but they already make a big deal out of us shoveling from the beach ( as if the small amounts we move have ANY impact ) Dredging is simply not an option. Thank you for your service my friend and the great comment 🇺🇸👍🏻😃🐺
@brian-doesnt-know2 жыл бұрын
sometimes when im down to separating the last black sands from the gold, i use a snuffer bottle and suck up the black sand i washed back, so as to get it out of the way and regain full use of the pan. just keep taking the easy layer off and knocking it back. might be worth a try!
@FlourgoldWizards2 жыл бұрын
I’ve done that on a number of occasions!!! It’s a nice trick 👍🏻✅🍻
