The elixir uses gray coated stainless steel frame with SiC guides. Amazing rods. The mirage is my favorite though.

The back bone is pretty good but it is an ultra light. I've gotten 5 lbers on it and its a great fight....however, I was present when another fishermen was on the dock and tried to flip is trout (2 ish lb) over the railing, of course I advised him not to do so and he did and it broke in 3 places. Ouch!! I have not tried a Loomis...Yet.

yea bro...one of the eye guilds came off of mine...I no longer can recommend that rod. I've since upgraded to the Phenix. Thank you for your input.

@@SuperDuperOutdoors well I take it back graphite rods aren't good for tight turns and when i upgraded to graphite from fiberglass I still treated the graphite rod like a fiberglass rod. If you do tight runs on a graphite rod it'll snap even high quality ones. Vannesas the crazy lady right? 1 more thing the ceymar is advretised as a lightweight reel but it's heavy false advrestising. The ceymar on the laguna is really cool lookin
