CORRECTION: 08:55 The reason for 1602 on the sword is most likely because the VOC was founded in 1602, not likely because the sword was made in 1602. Fun fact, that same year the VOC undertook the world's first recorded IPO (initial public offering). I did not learn this until 10 minutes after I had already exported the video 😃 sorry guys..

I have learned that they're approximately worth as much as current USD 7900B. While Japan's 2019 GDP was only approximately USD 5000B. It equals 20 modern major companies combined. I'm always amazed by the company ruled us back hundred years ago. Indonesia was only one of their plants/biggest assets.

Buat Mr Kristian Hansen. Trims yg sudah berbagi cerita positif tentang pariwisata Sumatra Utara khususnya Samosir island.

just for info, the Batak people are the original people of the island of Sumatra... the Batak tribe has a hard-hearted voice. Some facts about this Batak I learned... the first fact is that Batak children must be successful overseas, that's why many Batak people migrate and become successful people overseas, facts 2nd, education is the main thing in the Batak tribe..even though their parents are farmers, their children have to be lawyers, teachers, businessmen, judges or big people out there...the 3rd fact is that the Batak people are traders and are respected in Indonesia even though they are few in number.4th fact Batak people donate many of the best singers in Indonesia, for example Judika, Titi DJ, Sammy Simorangkirr and others.. (perhaps because of the high voice characteristics of Batak people) the fact that the 5 Batak people cannot be separated from tuak, pork and chess and customs ... (sorry my english is bad) the 6th fact is not all Christian Batak only 4 dominant Christian Batak tribes (Pakpak, Toba, Simalungun Bataktoba) while there are Islamic Batak tribes Mandailing and Angkola Batak in the Sipirok to Panyabungan area

Went there in 2010, when me and my wife go on a backpacking - honeymoon style across Sumatera. Yep, as a Sundanese, I confirmed that the Batak people sure have a loud voice but have a really kind and gentle heart; such a beautiful memory. Horas! 07:11 That's actually similar to the (Arabic) Muslim culture where a father is called and known by his firstborn child. Some of my friends address me as Abu Jibrael (the father of Jibrael).
