I have to ask, when I jig Lakers I try to “video game” fish. Do you just let your lure hit bottom and jig blindly as you drift?

depends, If there's a sharp drop off and I can't see much on the fish finder I jig it up and down while slowly reeling up to cover most of the bottom depths, but If I can easily see them on the fish finder I'll be constantly watching them to see how they react and I'll jig a bit above them and if they start chasing the lure I'll reel up and they'll usually hit it while chasing up! They're one of my favorite fish to go for, Ill be doing a bunch more fishing for them when the season opens in May and I'll be posting videos about it!

@@thecanoefisherman9642 thanks a lot for the info. Could you make an instructional video on how to locate them/jigging cadence and all that good stuff? I’m pretty much completely self taught and I have 90% of it down but I just need some fine tuning. One more question for you is how do you cope with drift? I lose my bait on the finder when I drift so I usually only go for Lakers during early morning and late evening when there’s no wind. Problem with that is time on the water is very limited.

I am taking my son for camping at silent lake this wknd, hoping to get some fish there. We will also go to Buck horn lakes for fishing. Hope my son will have a good experience there. He is only 14 and loves to fish.
