Lived directly across the street from this place in 1975 and used to take my baby daughter on walks through. I have now lived in Australia for a long tine and really enjoyed seeing this place again. Very nostalgic and you did a great job with it. Garfields monument is spectacular inside so hope you get back again. Cheers

Thank you for your comment and yes, I do plan to visit there again. Would like to see inside the monument . What impressed me the most about the cemetery was the number of people, like yourself, who used the grounds as a place to walk, ride, and even picnic. Thanks again from Down Under. Take care!

I've been to Lakeview Cemetery. My father and I found my great grandparents as well as other members of our family. From where they were laid to rest, you can see the Garfield Memorial and the Rockefeller Obelesk. You should also do video on Erie Cemerery where some of the early Clevelanders were loid to rest.

Thanks for visiting my channel and the comment ! There are several little cemeteries that I plan to visit in recognition of our founding settlers. I will be following a family from Middleburgh Hts, Ohio and their first generation.......so stay tuned. Take Care Glenn

You walked directly past one of my friends Graves after Glenn Schwartz. Robert Pinkas. He died way too young in such a tragic way. Roberts wife and children are amazing. He has affected me from the very first time I met him in a great way. He sure loved his family and his Aston Martin db12's.

I know ! The Erie Street Cemetery is a location I will be checking out. I'm following a first family from Middleburgh Hts, Ohio and one of their primary relatives is buried there. Thanks for the suggestion.

Too bad you didn't get in to the Garfield monument. There is a beautiful view of Cleveland from the balcony.

I wish you would have said something to that guy who was sitting on the Rockefeller memorial. It's very disrespectful for him to be doing that. Otherwise, this was a great video. I have had a long fascination with cemeteries.

Thank you for the comment. I know, but he looked kind of sketchy and I didn't want to get into an unfortunate confrontation. My time there was limited and I had to shoot around him. I thought the same thing about his actions though. Some people ! Thanks again. Glenn

I went to school nearby, CIM’77. I never knew this cemetery was there. I guess I was too busy practicing my flute 4-6 hours each day.

Garrett Morgan didn't invent the stop light or the gas mask. Traffic Signal Invented by Garrett A. Morgan in 1923? No! The first known traffic signal appeared in London in 1868 near the Houses of Parliament. Designed by JP Knight, it featured two semaphore arms and two gas lamps. The earliest electric traffic lights include Lester Wire's two-color version set up in Salt Lake City circa 1912, James Hoge's system (US patent #1,251,666) installed in Cleveland by the American Traffic Signal Company in 1914, and William Potts' 4-way red-yellow-green lights introduced in Detroit beginning in 1920. New York City traffic towers began flashing three-color signals also in 1920. Garrett Morgan's cross-shaped, crank-operated semaphore was not among the first half-hundred patented traffic signals, nor was it "automatic" as is sometimes claimed, nor did it play any part in the evolution of the modern traffic light. For details see Inventing History: Garrett Morgan and the Traffic Signal. Gas Mask Garrett Morgan in 1914? No! The invention of the gas mask predates Morgan's breathing device by several decades. Early versions were constructed by the Scottish chemist John Stenhouse in 1854 and the physicist John Tyndall in the 1870s, among many other inventors prior to World War I. See The Invention of the Gas Mask.
