That was quite a stack, glad you didn't get badly injured and bike was okay!

Ha cheers mate. Cracked ribs for a few month but all good now. But more importantly the bike was fine 😂

Rode there a couple of years back and it was amazing. The final descent just goes on forever.

Brilliant stuff! I've walked Helvellyn and the surrounding area enough to know that ride is beyond my skill level. I'd be pushing most of the time. Excellent video. :-) BTW... 2:02 phwoarrr! Lol.

You did good with the weather... I went up also in September, and spent the quite a bit of the ride only being able to see a few feet in front of me because of incoming clouds. It ended up pretty cold and wet! I had planned to make a short edit to document my achievement but it was so windy you can’t hear a word I’m saying! No idea what the view from the top is like, but Glenridding is nice little place!
@Lakedistrictrider4 жыл бұрын
Hehe, yes it is definitely one I would save for one of those rare fine weather days. We had no wind and sun. Perfect. At least you have a good excuse to go and do it again 😀

decent trail..! just sold my scott scale 950...was an amazing, bike, but upgraded to a full sus ebike...should be arriving next week.. :)

Hope you enjoy your new bike. Can't see myself going back to a hardtail after 13 years on full sus!
@TheWeardale13 жыл бұрын
@@Lakedistrictrider yep, never had a full sus before, was initially just after a hardtail ebike for the types of rides i normally do, but people were saying go full sus haha... and the one I'm getting isn't that much more expensive than their hardtail anyway...

Iv done this 3 times last time on my own and had a OTB at the start of the boulder field wher my gopro was slammed into my chest i had a fist size bruise for ages also had to ask a passer by in car park to lift my bike in the car for the 200 mile trip home its so easy to come off when your least expecting it and as you say lose your mojo. a good video though looking forwood to watching andys version.
@Lakedistrictrider4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Brian, yeah easy to come off at any time. Keeps us on our toes. If there was no danger it wouldn't be exciting though hey! Thanks for watching

That descent looks like it'd be a lot of fun on an enduro bike. The climb less so 🤔
@neilbower1232 жыл бұрын
Have you tried descending down Seldom Seen as opposed to that rocky, loose run to the valley bottom? It heads off to the left when you get to the flat section after the top, long descent, bring you ut at the unofficial car parks on side of road on banks of Ullswater
@Lakedistrictrider2 жыл бұрын
Heard of it mate but not ridden it myself. Its a footpath and I tend not to ride them personally. Nothing against those that do, just a personal position.

Epic ride! ....you were lucky with the weather. I counted 7 cables coming from your handle bars....brakes =2, gears could be 1 or 2, fork lockout, seat dropper....blimey, i’m confused. What do you have?
@Lakedistrictrider4 жыл бұрын
Cheets mate, yeah it is best saved for those few good weather days. I think you are right with 7 cables. 2 brakes, 2 for gears, 2 for the Scott suspension adjustment (rear shock & fork), and a dropper post. Bit of spaghetti hey? 😂

Looks ok for me but not the gf. Any slightly more easier ones ? Borrowdale bash ?
@Lakedistrictrider Жыл бұрын
Sorry, hard to tell what might be appropriate to your gf without knowing her. Borrowdale Bash is significantly easier than this, though still technical in places. My guidebook (see link in description) has a range of routes graded blue, red and black. It doesn't include this or the Bash though.

Hehe, yes its awesome mate. You should deffo do it. I've never worn knee pads in nearly 30 years of biking. They didn't exist back in the 90s 😀. Not sure I would like wearing them. Though they would have saved a bit of skin on this ride.
