Just started the smallmouth pre-spawn here in Idaho. Come to Dworshak Reservoir! Hells Canyon is an amazing smallmouth and golden crispy fishery as well. They just broke the state record in Dworshak with a 9.72 yownder.

Yes on the jitterbug. The oldest ones were much better than the newer ones. The old ones had more action. Caught my largest bass on one in all white. Old lure, but it only caught big fish. Would sound like someone throwing a big rock on the lure in the water during night fishing. Could not see the lure in the dark but you could hear and feel the strike! Such fun!

Jitterbug is what you were thinking of. Arbogast lures (Hula Popper, Sputterbug, Arnogaster-deepwater lure) the best lures in the 60's and 70's. Jitterbug is my favorite of all time, caught more fish on those, than all other plugs combined. I am glad you came out with a plow bait. In dead calm water, it will leave a trail of bubbles. Top water bites are the best.

I really like the googan frogs, they remind me a lot of the spros which are my favorite. I like a durable, harder hollow body frog and I find it doesn't impact hook-up ratio if you know how to frog and have the right gear. Awesome video!

I love frog lures. I live in British Columbia, Canada and we don't have much bass, they are an invasive species by definition around here, and frogs are and almost guaranteed to work
