Bow hunting for pigs can be just as intense as a whitetail hunting and right now we need to harvest some hogs to keep them from running off the deer! There is a big boar I'm after in particular that would be my biggest how with a bow ever!

The other product my family has been using for over 40 years is Cover Up. It masks human odor and also attracts game. I have seen friends smoking cigarettes and the deer still came into bow range down wind. Many times I have had deer coming in and giving me a shot from down wind, and never have they blown. I suggest trying Cover Up!

One other quick question, do you carry a sidearm with when you're hog hunting? Those tusks can put a real hurt on you! My Uncle's nephew was at the WI state fair in the pen with his boar when something spooked it. It just shook its head, it took 18 stitches to close the wound. Be careful man zero!

The scene looking over the river is why I always had a rifle handy in the vehicle. Get a hog trap and start catching them in bulk - either eat them (hand them out to community/church groups) or leave them for the buzzards. When stalking pigs in the scrub wear a .45 on your hip, or ideally across your chest. One of those pigs WILL mess you up! Head out a few nights with a supressed AR and night/thermal scope. Pigs will ruin the property and drive off the deer and they breed like flies. I totally understand trophy hunting, but when it's pigs you need to shift gears and go into "extermination" mode. I've rarely hunted trophies myself. Usually when I hunted it was meat for the table/freezer, to make money from hides/tusks/horns/antlers, or for pest control. Usually the three went together nicely.

Can also try drying your hunting clothes with a sock full of baking powder then get some natural branches or leaves and put them in a non scented trash bag until you are ready to hunt, and remember your hands and fingertips have a lot of oil in them so either wear gloves or wash your hands in a mixture of baking powder and water

God forbid anyone tries slipping into to where the bucks are feeding on acorns when you can just wait for them to start showing up at the corn feeder. They oughta hire somebody to come in and trap the pigs they can cut and release the boars so they'd be worth eating. You'll never keep the numbers down shooting them one at a time.

Seek one had a really cool video with a tracking dog and it didn’t matter what scent killer they used or how much, how many kinds. The dog found them every single time with almost no issue. To me it confirmed my doubt in the “scent killing” sprays. Best thing you can do is hunt the wind and hope for the best

I think that you aren't letting your staves dry emough, the wood shrinks as it dries so when you put stress on it by drawing it, cracks result you might try backing your bows with rawhide, though it you can bag a rattler that's long enough, ( be careful and don't get bit) snakeskin will work too, glue it to the belly of the bow and stretch it tight around the spine then use deer sinew, ( or the fake sinew that you get from a leather store or primitive arms company) to stitch it on, it makes for a pretty unique, and attractive bow!

Smoke is a natural scent, yes, but it is the scent of something every wild animal fears, isn't it? Don't they tend to avoid, if not downright fear, fire? I feel like you'd be better of going with the scent of the local vegetation or even whatever feed you are putting out to cover your own with. Honest question, as I am just getting into hunting myself, it would be great to get some feedback.

Scent blockers?...my dad would simply visit the area around the stand and feeder as frequently as possible (at least a couple times a week) for like 6 weeks before season ...rubbing his armpits and touching things....taking a leak (not every vist).... The idea was to get the deer used to him being around there so that when the time came and they scented him in the stand the deer would just shrug it off as completely normal and continue on with business as usual. He swore by it and took as many deer as he cared to ...usually wearing black jeans and a carhart jacket and cowboy boots and hat lol

Hello, Sure was a nice day out there. Better luck next time. Oh I was thinking. Oil bonds to acrylic right? Sweat is oil right? Clothing is petroleum based acrylics right? Molecules bond together like neo magnets right? To break the bond of your sweat and the acrylic fiber you need heat to hyper-accelerate the atoms or physicaly break the bond with force. Since it is a mild bond this can acomplished with a rug/blanket wisp. The problem with breaking the bond with the agitator of a washing machine is most now days are meant to be gental and if the bond is broken is another stinky sweat atom going to charge it or is an oily perfume atom going to charge it? Then if it is the scented oil you want bonded to it. Is it going to be broken apart again 2 seconds later and replaced with another sweat atom again? At the end of the wash have you actually swapped any of the sweat atoms for perfumed atoms in the fiber molecule? The smoker could help them rise and fall away from the clothing but how do you get an oil atom to close the open chain of the molecule? And the clothes would have to be hanging so all surfaces are exposed. Which means a walk in smoker. Then you have to get it hot enough to agitate the molecular bond so they fly apart on their own and bounce to 'who knows where?'. Seems it would work better as long as you dont get it so hot your clothes shrivel and you can introduce a scented oil to close the molecular chain. P.s. cotton close rinses away easy. But is the worst thing to use for layering and staying dry. My rule of thumb is no clo5hing that will not wick moisture away quickly. So that leaves wool and synthetics(acrylic blends). Some wools are real heavy. It has water shedding properties but will eventually get saturated and much much heavier. Expensive wools work better but.. the synthetic blends are much better at drying out, but then your right back to acrylic anyway. The best solution is probably beating it with a stick while spraying it with earth scented oils?? Buying new isnt really an option because then you have to get all those bonded scents to break away without reattaching to the next broken chain link. The actual smoke smell is just a mask and only covering the accompanied human scents that are still present for a much more refined nose to sniff out. Peace and Goodluck
