The NBA Draft is a few months away but Bronny James made headlines after declaring while keeping his name in the transfer portal. However, one anonymous NBA GM said quote: 'Bronny is nowhere near ready. He should go back to school to develop at his own pace or he risks getting lost in the shuffle, whether or not he’s playing with his dad.' An anonymous scout also discussed Bronny's draft stock, saying quote: 'Bronny is an undersized non-shooting guard. The shot looks good but doesn’t go in. Those guys scare me the most.' Skip Bayless, Paul Pierce and Keyshawn Johnson react to the comments and decide whether Bronny should stay in college or not.

To be fair he came off of a heart attack and came back after the season had started. He showed he was on a good level during the McDonald's game, 15 pts on 5-8 from 3. If he can model his game after Lillard with that Lebron athleticism/IQ, he can be an 18/8 type player with great defense in his prime. It's not valid, because Thanasis is not Lebron James son. Bronny has James on the back of his jersey, there's expectations that come with that. All these comps to these all star players don't mean anything, Lebron James is one of the top 2 players of all time, some consider him the Goat. You don't get to show up in the NBA and call yourself Joe Smo, nobody is gonna take it easy on you and "let you develop" you better be coming in the league ready, because those NBA players stay ready. Bottom line is Bronny is not ready period.

@@StrictlyRLNo one is going to see bronny and carry him the way they see lebron 🤦🏾‍♂️. People learned even when MJ’s sons were playing that the players and their sons are completely different. So no your point does not add up, considering that he can develop in the nba and as these guys have said, there were people who haven’t looked promising in the nba from their college years yet still got chosen and became great. And similarly there were some good players that shouldn’t have been in the nba.

So your saying that nobody will pay to see Lebron James and his son play in LA and once Lebron retires we still won't have expectaions of Bronny carrying Lebrons basketball legacy? Please tell me thats not accurate, because im wondering how he gets a pass to just show up and not be successful. True he's not his dad, but there are expectations.
@StrictlyRL
@StrictlyRL Ай бұрын
And yes he can develop in the Gleague, alot of players do but again he will still be expected to live up to that name in some way, that will always be there. MJ sons were an aboration, ofcourse we all know they were trash and didn't pan out, but people just don't assume that as much with another greats son, especially when we've seen his progression up to this point. Bronny has real potential, but no one is going to just forget who he is. Lets not forget Lebron James was the one that called out his son, saying he was better than half the players in the NBA right now, he created that narrative. Lets not let Lebron off the hook, and let him play his son down now, you started it, better show and prove... thats it.

If Bronny is undrafted or gets taken in the 50s and signed to the two-way spot of Harry Giles or Skylar Mays, it won't mean a whole lot beyond the symbolism. That said, it does hurt the image of the NBA being a meritocracy for the best players in the world. Bronny was the third best point guard on a mediocre USC team. He didn't play good enough to merit being drafted. If LeBron gets the Lakers to take him, it will look worse for everyone involved than the actual impact on the team.

Bronny is a 6,2 guard with sloppy handles and avg (relative) athleticism. He’s unselfish and a good defender. If he were 6,5- 6,6 he could be a good hustle guy but honestly he’s just not an NBA player.

It would be a thrill for some guys to get that 15th man off the bench spot, to say "I'm in the NBA", and make life changing money. Instead, Lebron's filthy rich son, a son that's no better than an Uber driver hoopin' a the local Y gets the roster spot.
