Joel Embiid has been in 11 playoff series. He's shot over 50% in only 3 of them. He's shot under 45% in 5 of them. Averaged 33.1 PPG in the regular season and 23.7 PPG in the playoffs. That drop-off (-9.4) is the largest by that year's MVP in NBA history. The only instances in NBA history of a scoring leader making the playoffs and not being top-10 in PPG in those playoffs : ’22 Embiid and ’23 Embiid He has shot less than 20% from 3 in his last 3 playoff runs The only MVP to never advance past the second round of the playoffs In five second-round series (29 games), Embiid averages 23.8 points per game on 43/29/82 shooting Is one of just eight players in NBA history with 1,000-plus playoff minutes and an average of at least five turnovers per 100 possessions. Five of the players on that list also average at least 10 assists per 100 possessions, and Embiid's average of 4.1 tops only Shawn Kemp's 2.9. He’s never had a playoff run where he averaged more assists than turnovers When facing elimination: 22.0 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists per game, 4.6 turnovers, 38.8 field-goal percentage, 25.0 three-point percentage 0-3 in game 7s with 49% TS and 5.3 TO In games Within 5 Points in the last 5 minutes He shoots 9/38 with TS 35.7%

its always hilarious to watch these early season freak outs. The Lakers had an almost 0.1% chance to make the WCF before the trade deadline and they did. The Clippers are suffering from the exact same thing the Miami Heat did, it takes time for superstars to gel. its gonna be tough and in the West I know its rough but the Clippers are really one superstar move to 6th man away from being a top 3 team. Nick does this every year because he learned it under Colin Cowherd (his mentor) sell a wild take early and if your wrong give reasons until u cant defend yourself anymore then apologize (he did this with Jokic). its way to early in this season to freak out. the only team that needs to make a roster shakeup NOW is Memphis other than that, the play in tournament is new and there is still plenty of time in the season. RELAX

Wemby. The Kid on OKC has been better but getting no airtime. Shoots it better. Scoring about the same, rebound, blocks about the same. Less TOs. Doesn't mean Wemdy by years end will not be let's say RoTY. But right now the kid in OKC it out in front. He's been very good. I'll say it again they are the same player. One is 7 foot one is 7' 5". 7 feet is not short. He has a nice shot. Healthy he'll be just as good as Wemby. Or so close it will not matter. Wemby shoots way too many 3's for someone who should be able to score at will down in the box. Not many guys are going to stop his shot down there. Shooting 3s it a waste for him. Shoot 70% from two in the box or 30% from 3. It's sad. Teams are so stupid a team could have a young Wilt and they make him stand out there jacking up bricks from 3 like Wemby does. Instead of scoring at will in the box.

Dude straight up, that's Chet Holmgren, he came from Gonzaga and knows how to ball. He outplayed Wemby in their matchup in preseason, I know it was only preseason but still. Chet is the real deal. I 100% agree with you that Wemby shoots too many three's. Centers want to be guards these days but he doesn't have the dexterity to be a guard in my opinion. He wants to be the next Durant but KD has way better handles. Wemby needs to hit the weight room and learn how to play from the post. Same with Anthony Davis.

Have to give the Rockets some props, too, and, specifically, Ime Udoka. The guy has done a pretty great job of implementing a new system and culture in Houston and you can just tell from the demeanor of the Rockets players that the state of the locker room is healthier than it has been in years. FFV and Brooks have also been great additions for them as veteran presences for a very young team. Who knows how the rest of the Rockets' season turns out, but they are looking to be a far more interesting team that is trying so much harder on both ends of the court than they ever did under Silas.

Bit unfair to Silas when he didn't nearly get that level of support from his FO in actually bringing proven vets like that in. His offensive system is something the Mavericks still miss dearly
@SkyJW15
@SkyJW15 10 ай бұрын
@@BubblesBub434 The Rockets also didn't have the cap space to do so, so that's a moot point. The problem with Silas was that he never held anyone accountable and misused players constantly. The misuse can be explained in part by the fact the team was tanking, but you just never saw him actually get mad or assertive with guys when they failed to execute. You'd literally watch guys miss their man or chuck up bad shots and Silas would be standing in front of the bench wuth an expression of "Oh, ok. That wasn't good." As a contrast, the Rockets had a great start to a game recently (believe it was their second game against the Kings), they pulled out to a big lead, and Ime still called a timeout and started getting animated with guys because they weren't executing as well as they could be. There's just a dramatically higher standard being set by Udoka than there was with Silas and it's not even close. Silas was the wrong coach for a young, developing team and the way he benched guys like Sengun was basketball malpractice. I think he's a good man who was brought in for one Rockets team only to get the rug pulled out from under him by having to coach a completely different kind of Rockets team, but he was awful during his tenure in Houston.

@@SkyJW15accurate. Definitely agree that it wasn’t a very fair situation for coach, the team he was hired to coach was Russ & Harden before all the trades. A team with proven veterans, intense personalities and high expectations. Within starting his first training camp, and first 2 weeks of the season, the team went the complete opposite direction and traded everyone but Eric Gordon, and started intentionally tanking. Not what he signed up for. But I agree with everything you said for sure

Philly is definitely better without harden. Half of that is the existing team and pick ups from the off-season and the other half are the players from the Harden trade. But overall, they’re playing much better (quicker, efficient, off the ball, etc.) than when Harden was the point and main ball handler. Edit: Oh and Nurse is a MUCH better coach
