hi...could you please suggest the software for this machine?

Is there any chance you could measure the footprint of the machine for me? I looked on their website and it shows total width and length including the stepper motors, but I’d like to know if the foot print would fit on my workbench. I’m okay with the motor and chain guide track hanging off. Thanks in advance!

I have been following work done by this machine for a while and i am about to buy one X8 series... I will be using it for alumnun, wood and acrylic. What is the maximum thickness this can go for? Like 50mm acrylic can be cut? Also for alumnum what is the max thickness?

We've successfully cut 3/16" Aluminum 6061-T6 at full depth of cut with adaptive clearing toolpaths. 50mm acrylic is within the geometric capability of the X8 but you will need multiple passes and stiff tooling. We don't have any acrylic that thick or cutters that long, otherwise I'd try it. But a little experimentation should get you there. Good luck!

Now that you've had some years of experience with the X8-2200, would you please comment on likes and dislikes? I'm considering buying the same machine.

Just thinking about buying this exact machine. Any update on your opinion of the machine? I see you've cut aluminium with it.

I'm still very impressed with this machine. Well-built, sturdy, precise. The only problems so far are human-induced. We have a lot to learn about proper workholding and feeds & speeds. Using Mach3 is a new adventure for us too. Slowly getting better. Will cut some more aluminum soon.

Hi, Do you know how speed it can cut birch plywood ? And for mdf can you give me details ? Thanks a lot, i'm planning about buying one but it need to be "fast", more than a x-carve for exemple ...
@lakerrobotics62156 жыл бұрын
We cut some small pieces of 1/4" birch plywood early on, just to get a feel for working with the software without worrying about cut speeds. MDF was also thin, but it went through very quickly. The router is powerful enough and the frame stiff enough in X-Y that I expect it will fly through at a pretty fast rate. Cutter selection will be a big factor. I haven't gone down that road yet, so you're better off checking with someone else.
