Win a title with whom though? LaVine, LBJ, AD, injured Vando, Cam Reddish, Max Christie, injured Wood, Hayes and who exactly? Let's see an 8 man rotation for the playoffs and a 9-10 man rotation to get there. Let's work this one out. A team has 240 minutes to fill per game. Even if LBJ takes 36 and AD takes 40, which shot us in the foot before with LaVine playing 34 (as an injury prone high flyer) you got 110 minutes covered. What are your role players from there? Gabe starts at PG I suppose? Actually an okay choice. He's coming around finally. Let's give him what? 34 minutes? That's 76 minutes left to fill. Max jumps to 28? Probably not a good idea, but okay. 48 minutes left still. And now what? Hayes or Koloko behind AD is fine for 8. Still got 40 minutes to fill here. I guess Cam plays 20. Still 20 to go here? DK is the only option I see. That's like 80 minutes between Max, Cam and DK. That's not going to cut it. If anyone is out, that immediately jumps to 30-40 minutes to fill and with what? Quincy? Lewis? Hurt Vando or Wood are highly doubtful to contribute anything. We're too thin to make that trade. Realistically we have a big hole at the starting 2 and 3 right now and LaVine would do wonders to plug it, but if you are giving away your best PG, combo guard and your only available backup PF, who needs to start at SF right now, you are giving away all of your shooting here. You want to place all that on Gabe, DK and Max and pray LaVine does not get hurt? I don't know man. If we had a healthy Vando and Wood and could upgrade Max to Herb Jones I'd be all for it, if you can name the combo guard or new backup wing and backup PG you can get for this to become a workable solution. There are a lot of ifs, probably too many to overcome. If Pelinka can pull something off that lands LaVine and Lonzo with us and allows us to package the picks with Vando for Herb Jones and he can get all that done, then sign me up as well. Without Herb and Lonzo, I say don't do it still and I think LaVine is a great fit. In short: Lonzo / LaVine / Herb / LBJ / AD Gabe / Max / DK / Hayes (Wood) / Koloko (Hayes) Hell yes, sign me up. Gabe / LaVine / Max / LBJ / AD Olivari / DK / Cam / Hayes (Wood?) / Koloko (Hayes) That's going to crash and burn as soon as one of the big 3 gets hurt imo. I say no.

Nothing to talk about here really. Even $30M/year for the third option is barely manageable, $45M - unreal. AR, despite his flaws, is team-friendly and reliable. And variance in his performance is very low, you can pencil him out for 15+5+4 a night, which is a great kick-for-buck.

I would trade AR for Lavine and Ayo easily. Ayo is a better option at the one and Lavine a better option at the 2. Adding two athletic guards, with greater consistency. Not trading AR without Ayo in the deal however and personally I would prefer to keep AR as a 6th man.

@@ThrifterGuy I’m aware of the math. Dlo, Rui, AR, JHS, Hayes gets you to 55 mil. Lavine, Ayo, Craig is 53 mil. 2 spot and 2 mil to work with for now. THT is non guaranteed till mid Jan so the Bulls have an option to open a slot without losing that money or a third team. Ayo, Lavine and Craig are all good enough to start or you can play Max at the 3 until Vando is healthy, or make an additional move. A three team trade with Charlotte for example where you bring in Nick Richards and Cody Martin (13 mil) could work by simply adding Gabe in. It’s may not be better than trading for say Cam Johnson and pieces but it will likely require more assets. Btw, DFS, Cam, Sharpe is also 47 mil. Bruce Brown, Jonas, Kuzma is 56 mil. All big trades require sending a lot of the same pieces out. Picks and young assets aside.

We are talking about swapping Reaves plus contracts to get there and not just any contracts either. It is D'Lo, Rui and then the whole point here, it can't be Gabe or even Max. Chicago is staying 18.6M D'Lo plus 18M Rui plus yes we take Reaves 13M too. That's the suggested "swap" for Reaves essentially. They'll take our 3rd, 4th and 5th best player and our best and second best shooter and our only combo guard and our essential backup PF behind LeBron and our two primary playmakers behind Lebron and our safest ball handler and sure our best contract and most likely best flame thrower off the bench, who gets the third most foul shots as well. If you gut your team we will need Reaves, too for LaVine. That's the "deal".

Yeah im not giving up Austin Reaves for zach lavine. Zach lavine is a allstar don't get me wrong but he's turning 30 in march and has had a very concerning injury history. Also he's on a horrible contract. The bulls were rumored to potentially have to offer a first with lavine to get out of his massive contract so nah bulls aren't getting Reaves. They have zero leverage. In fact there one of the few teams we'd actually have leverage over since they wanna trade these players and Lakers are one of the few teams interested. Im all for Lavine potentially for DLO flip tho.

I like the idea of trading for Lonzo. He is currently a bench player, only 20 minutes ish a game. They are trying not to push him too hard. What I like about the trade is his defensive metrics and team metrics are really high. His high potential is really good. His ability to fit now and with AD post LeBron is high. His next contract will not be as much, maybe mid level range and you get his bird rights if you make the trade. If you can get Ayo (7 mil) and Ball, then you are covered Ayo can start, Ball off the bench this season. Add Craig for 3 mil as well if wanted. Vuc another 20 mil for your center. Also Ball’s contract is expiring so there is very limited risk associated. Couple seconds and matching money. It’s a risk though. If I don’t have other good moves I’d be open to this one.
