We’re not saying rui and AR don’t DESERVE to be starting. We’re saying Gabe and dfs are the perfect archetypes to start and close games alongside Luka. For one. He’s NEVER gonna have to guard an elite guard, 2 he has chemistry with DFS. For example with Cleveland, now we can stick Gabe on garland, dfs on Donovan and Luka on okoro/hunter. Luka has NEVER WON in a non defensive backcourt, he’s never had a defensive POA 2-guard. That needs to change

It’s that it makes sense that it will. There is a reason why we don’t have a bunch of 40 year olds in the league and it’s not just that they can no longer play. It’s that it’s not sustainable on a nightly basis. Plus, recovery time takes longer.

Part of the reason they’re not playing Luka vs Pacers is bc it’s a bad game to come back against when coming back from an injury as they play fast. Pacers have killed Mavs w/ Luka lately. 3-0 vs Mavs (133-111, 137-120, 134-127) their last 3…Luka was -13, -18, -3 in those games. Also good game for Bron to rest honestly if sore ankle. Was excited for this game as Pacers/Bron fan (& Luka to a lesser extent), but it is what it is. Pacers 19-6 the last 8 weeks! 3rd best record in NBA behind only OKC & Clev. Last 6 weeks their 14-4. 2nd best in NBA behind OKC 16-4 and +6.5 net rating (5th best behind OKC, Clev, Den, Bos). Lakers 6th best the last 6 weeks (12-6) & 7th best net rating +5.3.

Personally, my lineup would be Luka, DFS, Vando, LeBron and Willams. Any time Luka and LeBron are on the court together...there will be more than enough scoring. Both Luka and LeBron need a shooter...DFS is more than capable of being very good at that role. Next, both DFS and Vando provide solid perimeter defense and Williams is a decent rim protector as well as a lob threat. My 2nd unit would be Vincent, AR, ???, Rui and Haynes. This unit is more than capable of scoring enough and playing enough defense to not allw opponents to get a big lead on us or to blow a big lead.

We have enough wings. DFS and Vando will get the minutes. How many players do you actually think fit into a normal rotation? Right now the Lakers have 11 rotation players and 3 of those are expecting to play 30 plus minutes a night.
