I think the problem is they are trying to play with a system that requires deep bench. But at the same time the starters are playing 33+ mins/game. Thats why they are always gased after halftime

Should look at trying to trade for Ayo Dosunmu as well. Not sure what it would take on an individual trade level, but he might be one of the best two way guard options for the lakers. Underrated as a point guard and better than AR in that position. Able to play 1-3. Unselfish, versatile player with good size, length and able to guard multiple positions. Very good slasher, athletic, able to set screens and make winning plays. Decent rebounder. 50/40/80 player last year, struggled from 3 this year, but 54 fg% and 38 3pt% in last 10 games. And at 24 years old, and 7 mil this year, 7.5 next, he is young and very affordable. Bulls don’t want to trade him, but they also probably can’t keep long term with many other guards already prioritized. They have also publicly expressed a willing to move him if unable to move others or along with Lavine, Vuc. People often like Bruce Brown for much of the same reasons that Ayo is a great fit but with even higher upside and more affordable contract currently. Could do a trade of Vuc, Ayo and maybe Craig for example and then move on DFS as well. Vuc while not ideal defensively is nearly perfect offensively. If he could buy into more of a bench role he might be perfect given the benches struggles to score at times. I also like Ayo more than Dennis (yes Dennis is better) because he is bigger, more versatile, able to switch better on defense, better defender overall, better finisher at the rim and most importantly he is better off ball than Dennis. The Bulls run 3 point guards and also Lavine lately, plus a good passing Vuc, he is more than able to play with Lebron. If you don’t like Vuc though you should still have one first at least, depending on negotiations, you can look to add another center maybe Jakob. Or with 76ers struggles, Drummond and / or Yabusele could be cheaper buys.

I’ll add that having Vuc as a stretch 5 off the bench, would be an ideal fit with Vando off the bench. So the defensive loss may be a touch overstated. Kessler and Vando off the bench for example could be horrible despite the high caliber defense of both.

Players supporting Anthony Davis and Lebron James on championship team and now below: Last Championship - WING DEFENDERS: Caruso, KCP, Green, Kuzma, Morris. CENTERS/ BIG MEN: Howard, McGhee This Year - WING DEFENDERS: Christie, Hachimura, Knecht, Reaves, Reddish, Russell, Vincent. CENTERS/BIG MEN: Hayes, Koloko After writing this, seems like the lakers have more wing defenders this year but the Wings don't get after it for a long enough time, so the solution would be to increase the number of Wing defenders in the rotation, decrease their minutes, and demand they play harder and contribute more in the shorter time they have because they should be less winded. Seems like that's what the Cavs are doing this year to get a 17-2 record.

People STOP using defensive analytics. They are the most inconsistent nonrelaible stats in basketball. Theres too many things that go into defensive stats. If u watch the games u know damn well, DLo, Knect, Rui, and AR are 100 times worse on defense. Most of yall dont even know the lakers rotations or schemes. The irony, the 17th draft pick last season was "meh" to other teams when it came to the trade market. Now that the 17th picks is Dalton Kneckt and he's playing at a star level, the Lakeshow could package him with DLo and get a legit star player for him. Now he's to valuable of an asset to trade away. He's that 3 point shooter the Lakers have been dreaming of.
@Eastra3
@Eastra3 11 күн бұрын
You don't trade players on rookie contracts that are giving you the amount of production that Knecht is for a mid tier star player who's contract will eat up way more space, potentially killing your depth for marginal gains in team production. Knecht could be special, plus I don't think any team is going to give us that type of star player we are looking for for any of the assets we have. Remember that there are at least 15 other teams out there that could put out way better trade packages in terms of draft capital and young talent, plus the Laker tax is real. Teams will always try to fleece us in trades. Only the Wizards have dealt fairly with us in the past couple of years.

@ You just expounded on my point. Now that Dalton is playing like the rookie of the year and a budding star, the Lakers would be crazy not to keep him. As far as his trade value, teams are now scheming defenses against him which means they see his value and would give up decent assets for him. Danny Ainge would do Dalton for Walker Kessler in a heartbeat now. Back when it was just a 17th pick. He would have told the Lakers to go pound sand. Alls I’m saying is that the Lakers have crazy more value now than when it was just an empty 17th pick.

They need to add one big Centre who can shoot and grab boards.Dlo, DK,Bron, AD + New C will change everything.. AR and Rui has to come from bench to strengthen the bench and to give more rest for starters.. Trade Wood, JHS and Gabe..Front office waiting for Vando to start. But Vando is a good defender who can defend. But after trading McGee and Howard most of the losses lakers outrebounded by opponents..that stats need to change..

Trevor, u just showed the stats saying the lakers are better with AD off the floor but somehow believe those numbers are reliable in saying Lebron is hurting the lakers defensively. How can u watch laker games and say hes more of a issue than DLoz Knect. AR and Rui? Stop being stat happy especially defensively. I saw another metric that showed DLo had the best plus/ minus on any laker this season. 😅 How much more proof do people need to realize alot of these numbers are for people who dont know what they're watchin. Most of yall dont even know what the laker defensive schemes or rotations are so when ur watching u think Lebron is not doing something when it's not his rotation to make. Lets not be casuals or rely so heavy on defensive analytics which by far are super inconsistent .

@@RK-ck6pl Even though that 'back-up' center may help us finally compete with Denver in a series, that's not a bad trade giving up Rui to have a chance against more physical front courts. I do agree that we shouldn't have to give up one of our better trade pieces for bruiser, especially when Dwight is out there saying he'd come for free. I'd rather use our trade assets to get 2-way PG and 2-way SF, unless we go big and swing a trade for Ayton or something, because he can do just about everything we want, but that would mean wither LBJ move to the 3, or LBJ needs to retire after this year, because Ayton wouldn't be happy coming off the bench for the next 2 years.

@Eastra3
@Eastra3 11 күн бұрын
@@RK-ck6pl the backup center spot isn't 2ndary. We can beat most teams in a 7 game series with a bad defensive backcourt and a so so wings, because we've done it the year we made it to the conference championship, and even last year in the regular season, we had winning records against most of the top teams that didn't have a more physical front court than us, like the Thunder and Mavs. Against a fully healthy Suns team, we do need more perimeter defenders though, but we really need to look at all 3 of our needs as primary. None of them are ok to ignore anymore. They are all equally important. We need a physical bruiser at the C spot badly. We badly need 2-way PG and SF. If we only address 1/3 or 2/3 of these 3 needs, we will still have problems, and probably still get exposed by Denver.

AR DK Cam LBJ Davis -17 (AR is not a PG and Cam is a wing without rebounding, passing or scoring) AR DK Rui LBJ Davis +3.6 (AR is not a PG and Rui is not a real SF only having the offense of a SF) D'Lo AR DK LBJ Davis +10 (Interesting isn't it? Almost as if D'Lo is a PG and AR better as a SG?) D'Lo DK Rui LBJ Hayes +55.2 (Eating secondaries for breakfast? But somehow Hayes needs to be replaced? Koloko is +57 with this by the way. Both guys are clearly more than good enough.) D'Lo DK Rui LBJ Davis ? I think it is very obvious that the biggest hole this team has isn't at the backup center position. And dear Trevor, please check out the positions cleaning the glass lists for the team: LeBron James - Forward (this is correct) Austin Reaves Combo (And a combo guard is in between a PG and SG. A combo guard is absolutely not a wing) Anthony Davis Big (true) D'Angelo Russell Point (true) Rui Hachimura Forward (Forward not wing. A wing can play 2 or 3. Rui is a 3/4, who is a better 4 easily due to lack of foot speed on defense) Dalton Knecht Wing (What happens, when you give LBJ and AD wings? Caruso / KCP / DG / LBJ / AD went 13-1) Gabe Vincent Combo (I'd say horrible PG) Max Christie Wing (I'll believe it when I see Max do anything a SF does offensively. I think Max is a very clear SG) Cameron Reddish Wing (without the offense sure. 3PT% is great this year, but then again under 1 make per game) Jaxson Hayes Big (Right) Christian Koloko Big (Yes. How many more do we need? That's 4 on the team) Armel Traore Forward (Definitely not a wing either) I've been trying to get you to learn that not everyone who is not a big or PG is a wing for years now. You know who else isn't a wing? Vando. And you know who else isn't a wing? Wood. How in the world it is possible that a guy that does basketball podcasting for at least half a decade can look at this roster and see a hole at PF and C is absolutely mind boggling to me. If Cam and Max are your top wings besides rookie DK, it is clear as day where the real hole is. And you can see that with perimeter defense. We get killed by better wings all night every other night and that has been going on for like 100 games. Maybe someone that does this for a living should get what he is watching? For someone who talks so much about basketball you'd think Trevor would know the difference between a combo guard PG/SG, a wing SG/SF, a forward SF/PF or a big PF/C, but he just doesn't get it. His brain is stuck on positionless basketball, which doesn't exist. Depending on what your center can do and whether you play with a point forward or a PG, different other player types make sense for the lineup. If you play D'Lo / LBJ and AD the only thing that ever made sense there was to play two wings with it. Reaves is not a wing. Rui is not a wing. Oh my god Dalton Knecht is so good with them? No doubt. He's a wing. That's why he is good with them. Now bench AR and trade Vando and Gabe for another real wing with defense and offense and this team competes for the Championship. It doesn't matter if you have another center or not or who that center is. AD finishes games at the 5. LBJ at the 4. So you need the best 1,2,3 you can play. PG that's D'Lo being in the top 20 all NBA for PGs consistently for half a decade now. SG that is DK, who is way better than Reaves and only barely worse on defense. Reaves is a good combo guard and has great use of the bench, where the competition is easier and he does well defensively and becomes great offensively. We don't have a 2-way SF either. Rui isn't great at that either. I reckon ship Gabe / Vando and if you can get a 2-way SF back, go ahead and attach Reaves if you must or attach Max. Sure Max will be a good rotation guy eventually, but we can win now. You just need a couple 2-way wings with starter skills like Caruso. Anunoby. That's why it was such a terrible idea to talk about Murray and DFS for eternity or Walker Kessler or or or. Everyone Trevor wants is not filling the real holes at the wing positions. DK is a start. But we need at least one if not two more actual real wings on this team. Then we are immediately winning games against top teams again. It has absolutely nothing to do with any big. And D'Lo is not part of any problem either. He just needs wings as well. Who feeds DK the most? D'Lo. Who feeds AD the most? D'Lo. Who was the best shooter on the team last year? D'Lo. That guy is not the problem. The problem is running him with a combo guard, who also has no defense and a PF that lacks foot speed at SF. That's a disaster waiting to happen as I told Trevor and the rest of this channel in preseason last year and again at the start of this season. LEARN WHAT A WING IS TREVOR!!!!!!!!!!
