That was a good interview, both informative and entertaining. I hope the best for Danny. You know, I feel disgust when people call the 2020 NBA Championship disparaging names like the "Micky Mouse Championship" or the "Cubic Zirconium Championship." The problem I have with such naysayers is that they have to embrace a lie to invalidate the championship, the lie being that because the 2020 playoff format veered from the standard, it needs to be tossed out or reported with an asterisk. The fact is the 2020 championship playoffs veered into the most fair and equitable playoffs American major league sports have ever seen. All the teams played on the same neutral courts with the same cardboard pinup fans, stayed in the same hotels, had the same distance to walk or ride to the arenas, same time off between games, the same daily regimens (if you allow for individual team schedules), ate from the same restaurant. Did I forget anything? Talk about leveling the playing field, that covid-instigated field was so level, Craftsman could have calibrated its level tool with it. Consequently, the 2020 Lakers are the most incontrovertible champions the NBA has ever seen, not tainted by having home-court advantage, home crowd advantage, travel advantage, or any other advantage associated with traditional playoffs. In short, rather than undeserving, the 2020 NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers were the most deserving champions major league sports are likely to ever see again.

Green made an interesting observation. Hurley does have coaching experience, obviously, but not with NBA level talent and egos. Whereas, JJ has no coaching experience, but is absolutely familiar with NBA level talent and egos. I'm not sure which is more workable for an NBA coach in today's league. The new CBA agreement will be pushing the deck more toward a college type coach, but it will take some time to ferment before you see a real difference. Just my two cents.

@aznpikachu215 Team loyalty is a myth. Teams have never been loyal to players they use that were a family sentiment until the off-season when they trade you for a younger better version of you. Players are more hip to that now and treat every singing like a business decision instead of an emotional decision.

@@hilamadventures4060 I was exaggerating to make a point. Just saying if Joe can do it, JJ (or any current coach except Darvin Ham) could have done it with the Celtics. It's mostly the players, thus more the GM. JJ shouldn't be scared of becoming the Lakers coach. Lakers will not fire him if he can handle egos, play calling, rotations, and player development. All things Ham could not do except egos. But Darvin couldn't overcome his incompetence

@renfam8183 agree Ham managed Egos but tactically was a wreck...He never once went after the officals, I think this was two fold because the Refs knew this as well thus all the free throw attempts..but there were times he should have protected players yet didn't...Secondly,I think him being a C level NBA player "Non Starter, Non rotation, 11th,12th man" played a huge part in his decision making . All the former NBA players who became good coaches were at least B level NBA players. Just hope whoever they hire works..I wanted Sam Cassell because of his experience , won titles, contributed, know how to deal with Egos, Hall of Fame players..

They ain't getting both those former Lakers! Reaves will never be the defensive play Caruso is and Alex isn't the ballhandler, shooter Austin is...Vando doesn't need anyone to teach him defense he knows that he needs to stay healthy in order to get better
