Warming up the metal before pulling will help to pull out the dent a little easier. My car was in the warm sun and once hot it worked on the first try.

I've got a suction cup slide hammer dent puller that is used with compressor air to create suction. Works good. I pulled a similar dent out on a pickup bed the other day.

I tried a cheap suction cup set to pull a ding off of my Tacoma. I dont have a pogo stick and I didnt dare tap with a hammer. I got some of it out.

As someone already mentioned using hot glue can work well when the rubber on the suction cup breaks up I keep the handle and glue it to the dent and pull.... Have a great weekend man always enjoy watching you!

Can the suction cup dent remover be used on roof rails?
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
It might work on anything flat and shiny. If there's nothing for it to cling or create suction to, it ain't gonna work :)
@orbital16 Жыл бұрын
Have you tried attaching it to concrete, does it attached? I'm planning to buy this just for hanging something light staff in my wall. Thank you
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
I don't think it would crate suction on concrete - would just fall right off :(
@olenaerhardt77254 ай бұрын
@ 0:30 What if to put a bit of Hot Glue on that suction cup? I was looking for applications of a Suction Cup with that glue (or Cold Glue), but didn't see anything, though I saw before a film, where someone used a 2x4 wood pieces, attaching them w/hot glue to the huge dent. I would appreciate any opinion on this matter. Thank you for a great film.

Interesting idea. I'm curious myself so I try to do a video on that soon. I'm positive you wouldn't be able to pull more serious dents but I'm thinking it would work on light damage. Thanks for checking this one out - have a great week my friend :)

@@LakesideAutobody Thank you for the replay. I have a huge dent on the DS Front door. The blow was such that the car parked on the road flied on the side walk and ended there. Fortunately none of the columns (A- or bottom) were damaged, just the door and lower hinge. I saw in films similar doors, they were replaced. I want to try to straighten it to have more time to find the door of the same color. So I have a huge dent indeed, and currently even can't open that door. Thank you again.

Hey Lakeside seen in 1 of your previous videos you used bondo professional glazed putty !! Do I have to use the hardener? I see you just squeezed some and put some on truck fender?? Blocked it and primed!
@LakesideAutobody3 жыл бұрын
Uses no hardener, dries super fast and easier than heck to sand. You can glob it on though - just thin little spots. It's all they used back in the old days - Lacquer Spot Putty

Me and my bro have this suction dent repair tool one time since its cheaper but I know metal panels are hard to pull with this stuff and used to pull only on FRP parts like modern bumper covers. The situation is we have to pull a dent located lower quarter panel. Then have this tool placed and ready fir pulling. Im crouching into the ground and I cant pull that much so I ask him my help. We cling both hardest we could but this thing pops and we tripped on our backs landing like 2 collapsed wooden planks. Its embarassing maybe it will need some work.

That had to be really funny to watch as long as no one got hurt. It would probably get a million views on YT :)
would the small suction dent puller work for hail dents?
@LakesideAutobody2 жыл бұрын
A ding from hail is pretty tough to pull for a suction cup puller. I don't think it would have the strength.

I've noticed you have a different guitar riff in all your videos, are you a fellow guitarist?
@LakesideAutobody3 жыл бұрын
Yes - it's been challenging me my whole life but I think I finally learned how to go back and forth on one string consistently and comfortably w/o getting caught on the string, the pick moving around, or weird unwanted sounds. What kind of music or guitar do you play?

The same reason you use a hammer to straighten a nail or a bent piece of metal. You pull on the lows and knock down the high creases. If that don't help ask again :)

@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
The panel has to be super smooth and shiny - like new paint. Try it on glass first - if it don't stick to that, there's something wrong with the suction cup :)
