Explanation for the tarmac stuff (maybe you can pin this if you want): Rafe's first promise to tell Shoupe what happened when he "found me on the tarmac last summer" is referring to when he helped Ward escape the Outer Banks in season 3, when the Pogues were going to rescue Big John, because someone had seen Ward and now knew he was alive and on the island after he faked his death. Shoupe and the police found Rafe standing there as the plane took off. The runway incident SHOUPE is saying he'd like to know about instead is Sheriff Peterkin's death: it appears he has his suspicions about Ward taking the blame, and suspects someting more happened there. That's why you see Rafe's expressions change a little, because he realizes that Shoupe has his suspicions.

Lmaoooo your flashbacks with Rafe absolutely killed me! I get why JJ punched him though! For one thing, JJ is spiraling bad. But also, with all their history, they really couldn't have trusted him, especially with that gun. He's already killed one person and framed them for it, plus he strangled/drowned Sarah. Not to mention allllll the stuff with Pope/the cross. I'm not saying it was the right call necessarily, but I'm not mad at it! What they did with JJ (especially in episode 9) just killed me. You called it - he had given up. And what was worse was that all his friends stood there and watched it. How the hell did we get here where Pope and John B say nothing when JJ admits to wanting to die/feeling like his life is over. How did we get to the point where Kiara is off playing cards while JJ is spiraling? None of it makes any sense. Also, listen, I love John B - but what in the world made him think it was a good idea to go tell JJ about the baby in the middle of JJ spiraling about his two awful dads who betrayed/beat/tried to kill him/killed his mom? Like....... sir? I do not AT ALL condone what JJ said to him, but I'm also like, what did you think was going to happen? He's losing it. :( I'm so sad after this finale. It just feels like JJ's story was wasted. I wish they would use the whole crown lore next season and bring him back, but I just don't think the show is going to go that route. But I want it :( Your reaction to all the flashbacks was what I felt too - that was what I miss about the show! I miss those lighthearted and sweet moments between the group, and I just don't know how they're going to handle next season because either the characters just move on from JJ and get a happy ending without him (which feels so cruel for that character) or the whole season is just depressing (which seems so cruel to anyone watching). I just don't get it. Also I agree with you in your outro about the whole dad situation. Like they could have kept parts of what they wrote but just made Luke have an affair with Larissa. Groff still could have been her husband (which would explain his hatred for JJ if he was an affair baby). Instead of whatever weird little thing they had between Groff and Luke? That was so strange.

Completely agree with you on the “JJ should have been an affair baby” point- the whole chopping and changing of Groff’s personality would have made so much more sense if he was pretending to be his biological father in some instances for manipulating techniques whilst snitching on, attempting to frame and attempting to murder the baby he never wanted and wasn’t his the first chance he gets.

Jj’s actor, Rudy Pankow, was involved with some onset drama with Madison Bailey, kie’s actress. Many ppl are speculating that’s the reason he was killed off so suddenly and recklessly. 45:32 i also don’t like the way he died. If his killer and “savior act” had more meaning behind it, I wouldn’t have been as mad 😂.

Love these videos! Your reaction to JJ's death mirrored mine to a T 😭 His deah was so senseless that I kept repeating "this is dumb" and "this is stupid" just like you 😭. On another note, it would be crazy if next season, when they all return to the OBX, the Pogues cover for Rafe's murder of Peterkin because they've made peace with him. That would be insane but I can see it happening since Shoupe has suspicions (evidenced by the conversation about the runway incidents) but Rafe has been helping the Pogues.

The fall of this show is from the lack of professionalism. They all say that JJs death was planned since the beginning. Pure bullshit Imo. I love Rudy, but this is all on him. Madison atleast tried. One of my favorite Netflix shows and what couldve been an amazing season if it wasnt for the last 15 minutes. After EVERYTHING he’s been through…What a dissapointment.

I actually don't mind that they killed JJ (I know I know but hear me out). Let me preface this by saying I love JJ and will miss him in the group. With that being said, he to me makes the most sense out of the group (especially the og four) to be killed off. At this point in the show it was getting pretty unrealistic that all these life and death scenarios were happening but no one was dying or getting seriously injured so obviously someone was going to have to die. I actually respect the show for following through with it because shows are just too afraid to pull the trigger. In terms of choosing JJ, I think his death has the most impact on the most people which could set up for some good storylines and character arcs. And to all those who say it's not fair because JJ already had a bad life, I think that's what makes it even more heartbreaking because he didn't really get a happy ending and unfortunately that's how it is for some people. I also don't like all the talk that his death was unnecessary because for me it's too soon to tell. I think it's only fair to judge the necessity of his death until season 5 when we can see the aftermath of it and how it helps or hurts to develop the story.

I completely agree. There have been plenty of shows where the favorite couples are canon, but also plenty where it never happens or takes forever for them to get together. Listening to fan pressure also made it so weird cause then it went from Pope and Kiara’s ending of a relationship straight into JJ and Kiara having a thing. They just should have never ended up together. My opinion: Kiara should have come out as bi or a lesbian. 1) then not everyone in the group is straight and 2) it would make more sense with how she didn’t actually like John B and how things ended with Pope. JJ, in my opinion, shouldn’t really have ended up with anyone

the reason for jj death was because his girlfriend in irl was mad over kies and his friendship and it was not even weird they were just friends like...so he killed himself off so he can be with his girlfriend but then after the girlfriend cheated on him i hate elaine so much i hope she goes next and when jj died the hired a stunt double for the cuddle scene when he offically passed.. they cant even do a hug scene anymore...
